Let them both grow a little bit longer till the stalk gets kinda stronger. LST Thread check it out. Make your decision.

i prefer LST not all plants respond well to fimming

I recommend using a LST scrog over topping and FIMing. Put a chicken wire screen over your babies, let them grow through and then use wire bent into C or S shapes to hook the plants down to the screen. It gives you a lot of top colas without the stress
