I would like to thank in advance any help I get. I have used rockwool for the first time.... actually first time growing also. I wet the seeds in papertowels til the popped and got a small root started, I put them rockwool about 1/4 inch down. I covered them with a piece of rockwool, just barely laid it on top so it blocks any light. I put a lid on it and covered with a black towel and put it on top of my dish receiver. I was wondering if it is possible to get them to warm? It looks like they are starting to grow but have not come thru the top yet. a couple have but most have not. They have been in there for app. 4 days now. Can anyone help???

I would of germinated them just in a cup of water that's what I do and all my seed sprouted out of soil. And if u put light on top without a lid on so there is light it will grow faster. Or some like to put them in dark. And I always use soil. So rockwool could be diferent

I just popped her a couple days ago...20121028_080443.jpg....I always use the same method n works every time...place seed in wet paper towel...usually within 24-36 hours they've cracked n u can barely see tail...I place directly in soil bout 1/4 inch deep...they always sprout within 2days...3tops....if it takes longer than that there's a problem....at least that's my experience...oh and I DO put them under light....I'd say it helps...once they get near the surface they can sense the light n they burst thru....easy
