Too much ventilation?

hi everyone. im utilizing a space that measures 8'x9'x8'. i have an inline fan that moves 790 cfm. ill be running 2 x 600w hps on digital ballast being cooled by a single 8 inch duct booster fan hooked up to a Y fitting. the intake air will be passive, and will be coming through a large hole in the wall that is covered with a central a/c filter (the blue square fibrous kind). my concern is the air flow. is there any way to have "too much ventilation? does this fuck with the plant in any way? would it be alright to keep the 790 cfm fan running constantly? also, would this effect the smell? would it dillute the scent? i have a Fast Filter which is kind of like an Odorsok, but i dont know yet how it will do when the smell becomes an issue. :peace:

you can never have too much airflow/fresh air. My only concern would be that your carbon filter might not be able to effectively filter the exhaust. There should be a cfm rating on the odorsock box. Usually a large (3/4 ft tall)can type filter is used to handle that much airflow.

That fan will change the air in the room every 40 seconds, which may be a liitle much to run 24/7.You could hook it up to a thermostat so it only came on when the temps go up. I'm assuming that you have cool air for your intake side .Good luck.

well, it will hopefully be cool air. the filter's rating says 800, but its just like an odorsok, not a huge full sized heavy carbon scrubber. ill have 2x 12500 btu a/c's in other rooms that will hopefully cool the air that is pulled into the room. im in an apartment and i dont want any smell to get out into the halls. thats why i was considering 24/7 airflow. will this "choke" the plants of air since there will be so much negative pressure in the room all the time?

especially in an apartment security should be the highest priority. way above worrying about "too much ventilation". get a quality heavy duty carbon filter.

and if youre that worried about the airflow, put it on a timer or a speed control
