So im running a hydro setup with NLxbb. its the beginning of week 5 and i got my magnifier today. I checked the trichomes and they seem very red and cloudy on some of my budds.
I still have to finish out this week (with nutes) and then flush for a week (water).

Are my babies going to get "couch-locky" or will i be ok? ill try to get pics soon.

Thanks!!

You are on Day 30 of flowering. That strain will be ripe around Day 65-75.

You can flush periodically thoughout flowering, every couple of weeks is good.

What happened here? Did you harvest early? What strain are you growing, is there any way that your day count is off? Why are your Tricomes red already? Interesting...

Has your light schedule stayed at 12/12 or have you been giving it more darkness?? thats the only way I see the strain just finishing earlier like that...Im with potroast on this one...they shouldnt be ready for another couple of weeks

You sure it's the tricks, and not the hairs? Sounds fishy if it's at day 30 flower with amber trichs already.

I've never seen any strain that has cloudy trichomes at Day 42. I've only grown about 25 of the "named" strains, though.

Basically, for just about all of the hybrids, you can use this general guide to flowering:

First 3 weeks - Transition to flowering, and growth spurt, called Da Stretch.

Next 3 weeks - Flower growth, and filling out of colas.

Final 3 weeks - Flower ripening, and swelling of calyxes. After the trichomes turn cloudy, wait for them to sparkle.

Gotta agree with potroast on this one. In 15+ years I've NEVER seen a bud be ready to pick in less than 55 days. Yes..you can reason it out that they are "finished"...but they aren't...

My guess is Cha-Ching or Beasties or some other God-Awful SHOTGUN mix of high-powered chem nutes has been used.... and the plant is stressed to the hilt and may.."finish" because it's got nowhere else to go but down.

Am I correct? Did they just get KoolBloom or some other bloom "booster" in the last week or so?

Well I actually have gone thru some chaos. I ended up getting fungus gnats. I treated the water with some bacteria and they went away. I gave them some subcultre too. The growth started again and they went for another 2-3 weeks. I harvested them and they arent the biggest but for my first time Im pretty impressed.

Thanks for all your help

I almost always pick somewhere between 50 days and 60 days. 50 days is on the early side and that gives me a real head-rush type high. This last batch I just harvested on Monday and it was @ 53 days. The trich's were all cloudy and a few amber. I don't generally wait for too many amber trichs. Peak THC is when they are cloudy.

I have heard of harvesting the top buds first as they seem to mature faster and leaving the bottom lower buds to mature a bit more. I would agree that my lower buds are immature at harvest, but I have never harvested before 7 weeks of flowering have completed. Always somewhere between 7 and 9 weeks.
