too high of temperature?

my plants seem to be thriving just fine under 32 degrees with 4 cfls on in each corner of the 2'x2' tent. but today i added a 150w hps to the equation and the temperature summed up to about 42 degrees. the fan i have working inside the tent is on high speed, i was thinking of adding a second fan to it. any suggestions? should i increase the CO2 intake so that they survive the heat?

That's amazingly to hot, i'm surprised they're even alive. If such a small hps increased your temps that much you have some serious airflow issues, or just high ambient temps. What is the temperature outside the tent?

Also what size cfls are you using? Co2 is pretty much wasted unless you have serious wattage behind the lights.

im using four 3' long cfls, 39w and one 150w hps and two fans now. outside the tent its 21. i opened all the ventilation holes up see what happens and this is my first grow. should i upload pics :/

i left the tent door open and now its 30c
theyve always been in 30c and thrived, i cant always leave the tent door open tho...what should i do?

one more thing, my white widow is a month in veg (shes a mom for sog) and my hashplant x pineapple chunk is 3 weeks in (also a mom for sog)

they arent oscillation fans, theyre duct fans without the duct, theyre suspended next to the light but not touching so they dont blow hot air out because the metal is hot

That's insane man. Thats 107F. I wont even let my tent get to 90F. You need to set up some good ducting. Is the light air cooled?

So you have no extraction or intake, seriously? Well that's the problem, i seriously didn't expect someone to think they didn't need to exhaust the air out the room.

Grab an intake and exhaust fan, they're not massively expensive, if you don't have a carbon filter i suggest you pick one up as well because the strains you are growing will stink to high heaven. If you're in a country that doesn't allow cannabis then smell is the no.1 reason to get caught, neighbors report a lot. Oh and you need to connect the exhaust fan to the carbon filter, don't just put the filter in your room and expect it to take the smell away.

you need some sort of extraction fan 2 oscillation fans are no good on there own.
^ THIS.

you NEED a ventalation fan to exaust the excess air. open all of the vents and get a vortex fan to exaust the air.

for proper growth (proper nutrient uptake....) the plants need to be between 23-28 C.

thank you for all the help everyone, i turned off my hps for now until i get the necessary equipment, sucks that i cant use both at once in my situation. the carbon filter is for the smell?

I broke my main stem of the white russian 3 days ago :( I wet up a paper towel and added honey. the leaves are still green on it. dont know how it survived, it was dangling by a thread of the stem. how long does it take to heal? the other plant had thrips i think despite my application of neem oil :l because when i came to see it this morning 4 of its leaves had white spots so i clipped it off and threw it out so it doesnt infect the other leaves :s what could it have been? and on top of all that, i had originally taken 8 clones from the white russian, 6 of which have died, and 1 doesn't look great. how am I supposed to keep the clones alive? i have a humidity dome for them, and i have the little spacings for the peat pellets that i put and i soaked up, and i water the clones everyday so that the peat stays moist. i also added sugar to the water so that it helps them survive...any suggestions?

Before you go spending money, make sure you're not measuring the radiant temperature of the light, which is always high and out of range as grow bulbs are, well... hot.

dont water the pellets. spray the dome with water..... watering the pellets makes the soggy so the clones cant root.

cloning is simple is you follow the basics 100%
#1 humidity 90% - 100%
#2 temperature 80 F (26C)
#3 NO suger. clones are very sensitive.
#4 spray them only when needed. the peat barely needs to be moist, Air is just as important as water when cloning.

what about my thrips problem? it seems they come back and eat it and take shits on my plants...they don't overwhelm my plant with bites, but its not like i dont fucking notice their scratches on my leaves..i've sprayed the leaves with neem oil + dishwashin to emulsify with water. ive been doing this 2 days straight. is spinosad the only solution?

its because you have to interrupt the biological cycle of the trips. which goes as egg-larva-eating-thrip-mating-eating-egg laying back to larva.

they eat through the entire process, but at those specific times they gorge themselves to get the energy needed. spray EVERYTHING with dilute neem oil. i mean EVERYTHING. the whole area the plants are in... fans, plants, walls, floor, soil, tools, light HOODS and anything other than the lights. leave the neem oil on there for 3 days, then spray everything you sprayed down with clean water. 3 days after THAT (6 days after first application) start the whole process over again by spraying with neem, then water 3 days later. this has allways been 100% successful with me and it keeps the plants healthy.

Neem oil is most effective when used as a preventive, meaning that you spray every crop regardless of whether or not you see a pest.

Many growers seem to be put off by its oiliness, finding sprayers clogged and plants left coated in oil. The solution is to get the oil broken down and suspended in the water, then we can get it onto the plants.

Mix:
1 litre warm water
8ml cold-pressed Neem oil
5ml liquid soap

use phosphate free dish soap for the liquid soap.
