Too good to be true??..$200 5 BAND LED?

im thinking of trying an LED grow soon as ive been out of the seen for a while and i wanna jump in just for fun this time, I always do countless hours of research on something before i try it, IE LED spectrum for growing new LED technology and what not..
well searching and looking hard for something that looks reliable but is kinda cheap and still pretty okay quality wise, I stumbled across this website

it boasts having a 140W 5 band LED grow light for 200 bucks, this is 140W actual draw from what I can tell, meaning a 240W comparison to other companies.. it looks like its built pretty okay as i can see metal heat sinks on the LED sections and the lenses for magnifying look pretty all right as well.. anyway have a look for your self and post what you think..

740NM is that not in the IR range?, ive been doing some looking on Google( maybe not the best for research) but as far as the results ive seen it looks like the plants respond a bit better with an IR spectrum being that it supposedly induces the flower stage a bit better.
 
I think there is alot of speculation on 730-740nm, but it seems to be best when on a timer to run right before and right after your lighting cycle. There is something called the Emerson effect, but I do not see alot of support for it beyond the person who first hypothesized it.

One thing is certain: if your plants get too much 730nm, it signals them to put growth in stems and not the rest of the plant. The reason for this is that the plant then believes it is in the shade of other plants, and will put growth into growing tall to reach sunlight. It believes it is in the shade because the far red comes through a shade canopy while most of the red in the 600-700nm range will be absorbed.

So right now, until more studies are done, I believe far red in a grow light is all hype.
 
ok so what would be a fairly okay LED light to use for a small grow. and id like to stay around 300 bucks, its just as a project. I still think this light would work, maybe not be like an hps but im sure it could make some good buds in a maybe a 2x2x3 area with maybe 2 or 3 autos in there. besides its only 240 bucks with shipping, if there is something better for the same price id love to know
 
When the Chinese LED lights are used for several monthes or one year , (their warranty is 3 years ) , the light fails . You can prove my words by your experience . Their led chips are Chinese made cheap led chips . Bad quality . what they said Epistar or bridgelux is not real ones . All are from Chinese LED chips manufacturers. Their quality is terrible . Why I know all these , because I have a friend in LED field in China .
 
Yep a bysen.. You would probably be able to flower 1 plant properly, or 2 with a little supplemental lighting, but it really ain't nothing to write home 'bout.
