Toadies

been out a couple of times picking toadies this week while they're not my favorite shroomy they are far and away the most enjoyable to find/ pick. out in the forest undergrowth loooking for the little red domes

anyway heres some pics

altho this is a red shroom it is not fli agaric notice the stalk is smooth no sign of a skirt it was growing in same area so i thought i'd point it out DONT PICK EM

anyway back to the lovelies

here you can see the worms that can spoil a nice shroom





todays haul (they were much more photogenic 2 mins before i took this pic but unfortunatly i dropped tray)


i wil be drying all of them out at which point i will save a couple of the prettier smaller ones (for dispaly value) i will then check for any excessive worm damage. once thats done i will powder all of them into a homogeneous mix so that i have an easily doseable mix (much more than i'd ever need tho )

do those contain psilocin or psilocybin?

no this is compleatly different type these are toadstools they have muscimol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscimol and ibotenic acid as the the active ingredients. its a much different trip not psychedelic like psilocybin shrooms more dissociative but definitely hallucinogenic. theres very good reason why they always have pixies sitting on them in kiddies stories

i dont do them very often the amount i got here would last for years (i refresh stash every year or 2) but i really enjoy going out and finding them always much more fruitfull than searching the fields with a torch

i always thought they were poisonous. i know there are some.
but didnt know it was a hallucinogen though.

they are within the most poisonous family of toadstools we know of that includes death caps but the toxins arent the same. cooking or drying the "toadstool" changes it to an easier toxin there has a fairly stong body load but there is still a strong dissociative affect.
thruout europe during the dark ages just one "shroom" had great worth theres many a claim thats where "soma" originated


i got these within 5 min's drive of my house and it took me no longer than 20 mins to pick them all they were in an old birch woods and in an area thats less than half a football field
