To trim or not to trim?

Should I trim the larger fan leafs off now that I am going to start flowering? I pulled my 400watt MH bulb and switched to my 400watt HPS bulb and think I may need to allow more light to get through to the growth underneath. Any help would be appreciated.

Being far from a anti-trimmer, I trim a lot lately.
But, trim for a reason. I've yet to come to trimming before about 1/2 way through flower.
Looking at yours (side views help too) I'd say your about 6-8 weeks from maybe having a reason to trim.
Looking good there. Steady as she goes mate.

I should also mention this, leaves are not as solid as they look to us.About 85% of the light that interacts with chloroplasts to make photosynthesis happen will continue on past the first leaf it goes through.

i totaly agree, even thoe i have countles arguements with my bro over this issue i think if u have a big leaf that is connected to the stem hanging over the bud of another plant it fuks me off, cause its blocking light to them leafs that go straight to the bud geting rid of them will slightly lower humidity i geuss and improve air flow for sure

Thanks for the input. I will just leaf them alone and let them do their thing. It's only my 2nd grow and still learning.

tuck the leaves and move any shoots / bud sites to maximize the light hitting it. I trimmed a lot on my first AK48 because I was dealing with space issues now that each lady has their own space I am good. I trimmed a few leaves off this last AK48 not near the amount on the other and have left my Jock Horror alone and will not touch it. I have picked off a few brown leaves but the plant will shed them for you, just pick them up :D
