to tall? not enough leaves?

wel ive made a few attempts to grow them but everytime i do it gets very tall and cant support its own weight and i have to get sticks to hold it up. i have it in miracle grow pottig soil, am using a sunglow light and have a fan on it. i put it in the sun during the day and have it on a 17/24 light schedual

thx for any feedback
 
its reaching for light ,what is a 17/24 light cycle exactly?

If you keep a fluro/cfl on your seedlings as close as possible as soon as they break ground, you won't have the stretching issue. It's simply reaching for light.
Personally I keep mine lit 24 on . . . at least until the seedlings are established.
I'd start my seeds in a smaller planter, then TP the healthy plant into one the size you're in already.
 
yes its a start read that info on lights in the link i gave you it will tell all about soft white or day light and what you want to be using now
 
You need more light and in the 6400K spectrum. Then 2700K when flowering. And keep the light on the first week or two 24/7.
