To Much Foliage?

Hey guys I have a 3ft Afghan plant that is about a month into flowering. It is under a 400w hps hortilux using fox farm regiment. The plant is very busy and healthy and I would like to get a nice amount of light to all areas without adding anymore light. It is ventilated and is in a large space without any light leaks.

Should I trim some foliage or just tie down areas to allow for more light? Or is any of this even necessary?

It is best to not trim away healthy leaves and in particular not to trim healthy leaves to increase light penetration. If someone's light is inadequate to provide the needed amount of light the answer is not to remove healthy leaves to attempt to make up for it. Your 400-watt should be able to supply enough light to grow good healthy well producing plants.

Brick top has got to be one of the most knowledgeable people on this site THE MANS A GENIUS as for your post He hit it on the nail from what ive read if you cut heathly leafs your plant will most likely spend time regrowing those leafs rather then doing what you want

I agree with this. You could look into LST. It would allow you to move the branches around for better penetration and likely increase your yield by allowing the lower bud sites to pack on some more weight.
