Once again I have deleted the post due to not knowing enough about the subject matter:(

I know that it is frustrating. :?

Good post.

While I agree about not BSing to get a card, the prescription of MJ for more means that there are more people principally interested in the protection/expansion of the program and its participants.

Furthermore, the dissemination of information regarding its effectiveness and relative harmlessness is necessary for dispelling rumors about its societal impacts, such as those perpetrated by propaganda such as Reefer Madness.

I think that you'll also find that - like essentially everybody on this site - most that smoke see the war on drugs - especially MJ - completely unjust. Besides the obviously self-serving origin of that rationale, procuring MJ legally is a step for many toward how things "should be", and their use a subtle exercise in civil disobedience.

In other words, as long as the system is not abused as a way for people to legally sell drugs and otherwise propagate the stereotypes of smokers and growers, it's all good.

Getting an mm card is a priviledge not a given. Or at least I don't think that was the main intention behind it.

To post a thread about getting an mm card and to have some members posts comments like "its no big deal, just go in and tell them you are in pain. Lie to them. I did and I got mine in less than two weeks," I find somewhat disheartening.

I wasn't too sure what word to even use for the feeling but it is a mixture of emotions. I think most of them are posting their comments because they are trying to be encouraging so i really should not get angry at them but if you are a member that has a REAL application and you are waiting and waiting for a response, some of these comments are like a cyber slap in the face.

Yes. I agree that many many posts are extremely callous, and even those within this relatively open community may in fact believe that the MM issue is just a scam to get legal pot. Obviously those opinions and the actions that reflect them are extremely damaging to the question of legitimacy of MM.

I see both sides, at least of what I brought up earlier. My GF has endometriosis, and her symptoms are awful. MM has helped her a great deal - not that we didn't self-medicate before that. I, on the other hand, have legitimate problems with insomnia, which is often not considered serious enough of a condition to treat with medication. Lifestyle, etc. But I sleep when I want when I med, and I would much rather smoke than take something like Ambien. In this way, MM's accessibility has opened my eyes to another problem it may treat - while if it weren't legal for my GF and I didn't originally sample her Rx (of course illegal), I wouldn't have discovered how effective it is. So there is an example of how it's availability helps even those that were not the original beneficiaries.

Yes insomnia can be a very intrusive on the life. I have my ups and downs with it also. I think people should be allowed to use marijuana accordingly for this also BUT until it has been added then it is still in the waiting.

I can certainly understand where you are coming from. Some states allow certain disorders while others don't. I'd like to see a lot more people with cards....just done with some moral integrity:blsmoke::peace:

I try and think how I would feel if I didn't have all the disorders I do but it is to difficult to take myself out of the equation and give an honest answer.

How do you honestly say....well if I didn't have bi-polar disorder and a panic disorder...or if I didn't have fibromyalgia etc....I would feel differently about the subject matter????

I just can't do that.

I think the more people that get cards the more different strains we will have etc etc. There will be more demand and the quality of weed will progressively increase.

What I don't want to see happen is people learning how to scam a card just to go out and seel drugs to anyone any where.

Yes and I believe that the more members who get cards the mose supply there will be. This IS a good thing . It just sometimes burns my ass that some people who might need a certain strain is getting blown up by some dude who doesn't care what he smokes as long as it gets him or her high.

If I were to cultivate a specific strain for say fibromyalgia and introduced it to the medical marijuana establishment, I would be most disappointed to know that it is just being sold to anyone.

I would hope these people that do cultivate these strains have a bit more moral integrity than some of the people applying to get it.

Just recently I have talked to members who have cancer and are dying but can't get an mm card. Some other very heart wrenching stories. :(

I just hate to see the unfairness of it all.

I cannot imagine what it would be like to be disabled in such a way that you are so limited and dying and sit here and read about someone with no illness marching in without a problem and getting a card.

SH*T! I have FAR too many emotions.

Anyone want some? :(

Geez Canada is fucked up... If you lived in ANY (not just california) of the 12 states that passed the compassionate use act you would of had you card already... It seems like thats your problem, your government, not people who falsify their conditions. I doubt that because Joe Smo came in and got his MM Recommendation for "head aches" or w/e they are denying you to "even it out" or how ever your come to this conclusion. But keep in mind those who did get their rec. on a falsified condition, should they ever face legal trouble they must prove their medical conditions, or their Rec. is worthless in court. I dont know, it just seems like your anger is misplaced, in my mind at least. In my mind you should be calling your elected officials, organizing with other patients with your condition and in your situation, and working towards a change. Getting mad at these kids online that claim to have their medical rec. does you nothing. I bet half these kids really don't and are just trying to be cool on the internet (yea i know it's an oxymoron.. cool on the internet). I completely understand your frustration but I just wanted to let you hear my take of your situation. I mean no disrespect, best of luck to your in the future :peace::joint:

Here in the states that have a MMJ program, nobody is put on the back burner so that another person can get their rec. Everyone can get what they need when they need it. As far as people abusing the system, it can and does happen.

The thing that gets me is when people come on here and basically say " HEY I WANT TO COVER MY LARGE FOR-PROFIT GROW... HOW DO I GET MY MMJ CARD.."

Things like this are not good for anyone.

Cause they are fucking ruining our country.....

I know about 15 people off the top of my head that i grew up with that are now receiving treatment for Oxy addiction. It completely changes people, it all they spend their money on, all they care about, and will steal from anybody to get it. Its a perfect example of how big business runs this country. Doctors were aware of the addictive properties of Oxy but drug companies gave doctors an incentive to prescribe it. Its a fucked up situation IMHO
