Having never vegged before, frost has just left my area (southern ontario canada)

Is it to late to sprout the seed and plant it straight outdoors?? Ive got a 20 gallon pot of promix sitting doing nothing, just not sure if it would be a waste in such a huge pot. Would like to get a good size plant just not sure if I missed the window

20 gallons outdoors is not a huge pot. I would start them in a small cup for a week or two then transplant tho...

Well a 20 gallon pot is pretty big when its being filled with promix and perlite and being waterred like its hydro on drippers.

Outdoors just adds a twist, wasnt sure if I would even fill this big pot if I popped beans today

Say you dropped seeds in cups of soil today {5-18}. Sprouts in 3 days to a week, then 3-4 weeks of veg. That would have you transplanting June 15-22. So if you are harvesting in October, that would be 3+ months. With the drip system you will be able to get enough water to them, even if they do get rootbound.

I popped 2 beans yesterday. Im on the fence about straight to final pot vs small pot.

If I open that paper towel and both have germed I may just try one in a bubble bucket outdoors, for shits and grins

Not an issue in SO, and the 20gal pot will be about right since you're starting a little later. Any 8 week strain will typically finish around 1st/2nd week of October up here regardless of when you start them.
