To FIM or Not to FIM

Not trying to steal your thread but I'm also wondering this. One of my plants is 5 inches at 16 days old but its starting its 5th set of leaves and growing pretty fast...Would now be the time to fim?

I also decided to try my hand at fim and topping. The fimmed one did grow 2 nice 4" colas adn 2 smaller ones. BUT....the topped one branched out and formed about 20 buds, half of which are 2"-3"...
I will do both methods again....they both are worthy methods ....just be careful with fim technique....it does mean,,,, fuck I missed! I did miss on one but the other fim did ok even though I grow in small 1 gal pots to make sure I keep my plannts small.

No worries Dank, Im limited on space for now so Im not sure if FIM'ing or topping mine will cause more issues for me space wise, or if it will add or take away from yield......

Opinions from senior growers would help a ton. C'mon ladies and Gents, please help out some new growers here....lol

"Uncle Ben's Fim & Topping" technique is very good to read. I topped & fimmed at about 6-7 weeks in veg....just as I put'em in to flower. I followed the above reccommendations.
RESULTS:
I've harvested my fimmed and topped ladies. The fim one had 4 colas at the very top with several nice satelites, The top colas combined weighed 40 grams wet....nice thick stanky dank....the topped one that had 20 "umbrella" buds....total 38 grams.... They weren't the same genetics but both methods have proven worthy....
Topping does seem to limit upward growth more than fim does, at least in my case.

of course fimm..topping is also good but fimming is least stressful to the plant..i would advise you to lst at the same time to even get more bang out of your herb.

:peace:

It depends on how long you plan to veg them after fimming before you flower. You really should give the plants at least 2 weeks to recover and start growing the new branches before you put them into flower or they won't develop to their full potential. Not saying you can't Fim and flower on the same day, just that giving them that two weeks of vegging after fimming makes a big difference in how well developed the new branches/colas are at harvest.
