to cure or not to cure?

cure when you can afford to but when the pipe is empty most dry herb will be appreciated ive found

TO cure!!! If you want a harsh, nasty, and less potent smoke, by all means just hang your buds out and let them turn to crunchy dust... BUT, if you want a VERY clean, smooth, aromatic, and potent bud, id suggest AT LEAST a quick cure if not a proper cure. Let hang for 2-3 days, when the outside is SLIGHTLY cripier and the stem is able to break after a few bends, then chop your nugs off the branch and put them into some air tight glass jars. Let the jars chill in a cool dark place for about 10 hrs the first time, and then check on them. Take them out and open up the jars to let in some dry air, shuffle the buds around in the jar GENTLY and allow them to sit with the cap open for 10-15 minutes. If you want to cure faster, take the nugs out of the jar for 10-15 min, as this eill rid the buds of MORE moisture faster if you are anxious to just smoke. But after that first time, you now want to check on the jars about every 6 hrs and open them up for 10-15 min (try to do that at least 3 times a day, 4 times evenly spaced out would be ideal). When you check on them and they feel dry enough to your tastes right after opening up the jar, you will have got rid of most of the moisture that would make a uneven burning smoke, and that leeching of the moisture will have made your buds flavorful and potent. It's REALLY worth it. Most seasoned growers will say that without curing your bud in the end, there was really no reason at all to try and take care of your plant like it was your baby girl up to harvest, because you won't have your bud's full potential until AFTER you properly cure. It's all in the cure baby.

Alway's alway's alway's cure. Personally I slow dry for 2-4 weeks in a dark dry room then when at the perfect moisture content I sweat cure for 1 month. I realize this is the longest way for getting your buds ready for smoke , butt it's also the best ftw. This method is best for converting your Chlorophyl into simple sugars. It makes outdoor buds look like Indoor / hydroponic

Really, it depends on a couple things when wondering how ling to cure. First is how dry do you want your buds? The longer you cure, they'll wind up getting to a point where you really aren't leaching moisture out of the bud much at all, only drying it out. I'd say that anywhere from 2 and a half to 4 weeks will be a great cure. But the longer you are going to go on the cure, the less amount of time you want air to circulate when burping the jars. Less circulation makes the buds retain moisture longer to allow a longer, slower cure over time. Just watch out for bud rot or mold!!! Find a happy medium where you are burping the jars and relieving enough moisture to keep from mold spores growing, but not long enough where they are drying out too much. The best way is to GENTLY touch your nugs! How do they feel when you're burping? Too moist to put the cap back on and put them back in their curing space? Too dry that next time you want to put the cap back on sooner? Feel it out, and the nugs will tell you what's up.
