To clip, or not to clip?

Hey all,

This plant recently recovered from a pretty bad case of root rot. The 4 oldest fan leaves already completely died, and I clipped them off. I was wondering if I should leave the yellow leaves on until they are brown, or should I go ahead and clip them now? I am wondering if they are doing much more than blocking light from the good growth below them.

In particular I mean the curling leaves on the sides. Just the two.

Thanks. I was also wondering: Am I correct in assuming the leaves would never recover?

Yes, usually depending on the extent of damage, less than 25% they may have a chance, but that also depends on the problem. Usually most damaged leaves eventually get eaten up by the plant over time, then shed off naturally, or pruned off if you prefer that, i usually wait until the leaf is more than 75% dead (deep yellow/brown) ten trim them off.
