Tincture Extracts

So I tried the alcohol extract method. Soaked my ground up bud and some stems in some Captain 100proof (I like the taste of it and Rum is "my drink" so I used this so I could actually drink it after).

Jesus does this shit taste awful. I'm trying to down it now but its a little strong for my taste buds. Anyone got some good tutorials or methods for making some high quality tincture? My brother and I are really into edibles and would like to make some good tincture.

I'll wait an hour or so and let yall know if it was a successful run.

Hmmm....well you aren't really supposed to drink a tincture, you are supposed to kinds wash the weed in some form of high proof alcohol, such as Isopropyl and catch the runoff, then you let most of the alcohol evaporate, til you have an alcoholic weedy kinds syrup...then you put a couple drops under your tongue...

See thats what they always seem to leave out in the how-to guides. They all just say strain the alcohol/ weed mixture then they product your left with is your tincture. Only the Iso alcohol ones say to let the alcohol evaporate.

NOOOO !!!! Isopropyl is NOT for ingestion !!! It's poison. Dumbasses!!!!

Use a high quality neutral grain spirit like Everclear or a very high quality Vodka.

Don't use stems and only use GOOD ground cannabis buds or trim, NO shake, NO big fan leaves and no garbage.

One ounce of material and one ounce of alcohol. Let stand covered for 6 to 12 hours then strain. Add a 1/3 a teaspoon of quality honey.

Use three to four eyedroppers full under the tongue.

Hey now I never said I used or wanted to use Isopro, so I wouldn't consider myself a dumbass.

The dumbass comment was a generalization aimed at anyone thinking it's safe to drink ISO.

Tinctures work. Just do it right.

Good deal Bodhi. Any other suggestions for making Tinctures? Tips or Tricks they leave out in tutorials?

I've been trying to find a way to create tinctures with similar potency across batches. My latest batch I used 2 oz. of orange extract (89% alcohol, available in every supermarket baking section) and dissolved bubble hash into that.

I can't see how you could soak an ounce of material with just one ounce of alcohol though. Are you sure that's right?

Im thinking a pint to a zip maybe. Ya, an oz to an oz sounds a little ridonculous to me to. Im also interested in tincs for pain mgt.. Im thinkin that a high quality bho dissolved in everclear or even better a locally produced grain alc. or peach/apple brandy would be the bees knees. Bubble hash would work too. I would recommend straining/filtering for that though.

BTW, depending on the amount of cannabis to amount of alc., 3-4 eye droppers could send you over the edge and down the rabbit hole. I would think something that was potent enough to medicate with 3-4 drops would be ideal.
