timer for air pumps on dwc bubblebucket?

i read through this forum with some1 saying you should leave your pump on for 30 secs then off for 3 mins throughout the grow process is this true?

I don't know who would say that, generally if only 1 of hundreds is saying something totally different then it probably isnt right.

Water that is constantly airated experiences iron fall out,the same thing happens when magnetic drive pumps are left on too long so the answer is yes,you should not let your air stones pump a constant flow of air to the res.

I personally run my pumps at one minute on & 14 minutes off via timer.

My whole system is based on a magnetic water pump, never had any problems with any deficiencies, and i leave the air pump on 24/7 too, only off to be cleaned.

you use dwc also? I have always left my pumps on 24 hrs but recently have been wondering... if a aero unit is set for intervals than should I put my air pumps to intervals so they are not constantly splashing the roots. But then I started to think more that i would be drowning the roots and if I could set up like a aerated ebb and gro or something like that would probably be best. I never have heard about iron fall out. How long does it take for that to happen? because most of us change the water every 1-2wks anyway

thnx grnthmb... im hopin to get her to take some more

but evn when the water is changed every week or every other... if it is true it couldnt hurt to do it right? it could only help? i still say im gonna try it

thats not bad man 3 zips form one plant indoors not bad with a 250w. for c02 i used to use 12g cartridges for bb guns a smart friend of mine figured about three for a small closet is about 1300 ppm in the air which 1500 is almost a plants max intake of co2 i used to just pop them off in my room but they are about 17 bucks a pack of 25 12g cartriges. a hydrofarm low flow kit is about 130 for the regulator timer and everything needed except the tank which is about another 100 you will be amazed about 32% increase in yield.
