Hi. Haven't posted in a long while; you folks here at rollitup are so thorough that I rarely have a question any more.
With that said, I have a question, and I can't find any solid advice anywhere. I finally got around to breeding a plant, since seeds are so friggin' expensive anymore.
Mom is an indica heavy hybrid (blue dream) and dad is a super silver haze, a sativa heavy hybrid. Mom is now 6-7 weeks into flowering and cuttings show that she's been seeded.
Half of the seeds I pulled out were obviously underdeveloped, but the other half looked ripe and ready for planting. My question is, do I have to wait longer to harvest a plant that I'm growing for seeds, or is it about the same flowering time for sensi? I DO plan to smoke what's left of the mom once I pull the seeds out, and seeing as how I mainly use marijuana for the cereberal, sativa-ish head buzz rather than the couch-locking body high of an indica or a longer flowering period, I want to harvest as early as possible, getting the least amount of amber in my trichomes while still letting my plant mature enough for the seed's development.
So basically, do I need to wait and lose my "heady buzz" of an earlier harvest in exchange for sturdy seeds? Any tips at all about growing seeds would be helpful, plus any warnings about nutrients I may need (or need to avoid) when breeding...
Still learning here, appreciate the help.
