time released fertilizers?

hey guys, I`m going to be planting a couple plants a few hours away from my place and only plan to make a trip to visit them about once every month.

Now my question is, whats a good soil makeup that doesnt need much attention. Also, could I use time released fertilizers? Pretty much, does anyone know of a good make-up of soil/fertilizers that would not need much attention.

I could venture up more than once a month if really needed.

any help would be appreciated :-P

Once a month,you better have some good soil retention.i would go every other week 2 times a month not to much not to little.As for nutrients,i would buy some regular stuff you use every time you water,dig a whole store in there with a piece of wood that has grass or w/e your digging into glued on it, no having to carry and no odd colored bags for the copters
to see you can also store your jugs of water like this also.
