Plush Berry - From Subcool's stash - Smoke Report / Tribute [PICS]

Where do I begin? Sub was not playing around with this strain. He was nice enough to toss me a couple honkin' nugs at the Medical Cannabis Cup today, so I figured I would document a bit for those of you wondering what to expect-

Strain: Plush Berry

Initial thoughts: The smell was overpowering from a few feet away- Which says a lot for something in the "tart" category. Very berry- It almost doesn't even smell like marijuana. Sub gave me the go ahead to "crack one open", so I acted accordingly. Upon rupturing the trichomes, a rush of citrus and berry terpenes release, forcing me to pause for a few seconds and take in the smell. Sold. At this point, I didn't even need to smoke any. I was in love. Few strains have hit me with an aroma so intense and unique. Island Sweet Skunk comes to mind. The Jack strains. A few others, at best. Sub and the people over at TGA didn't necessarily step out of the box with anything on this one, but the end result here is something completely and totally new. I'm truly sorry if you were unable to get seeds. We have a keeper people :)

Smell: This one will make your head snap back a bit, but in a good way. The smell is of raspberry pulp, blackberries, lemons, Fun-Dip sugar, and the slightest bit of that floral kush smell, in that order.

Let's run through that- Picture style:

Do you see anything unpleasant there? Moving along.

Visual: I really could care less if the damn buds are or aren't pink- This shit looks amazing, regardless. Super super frosty, tightly stacked, rock hard calyxes plopped one on top of another. Some calyxes are topped with a nice little tuft of pistils, but for the most part, we're dealing with sugar. Finding a pink pheno is honestly icing on the cake. Your Plush Berry will look amazing even if you don't get a pink pheno.

Methods Smoked: Bong / Joint (Raw King Size + Crutch)

Taste: The initial inhale has a nice sharp pinch to it, rushing straight from your lungs to your temples. I recall wincing slightly, even suppressing a cough or two. That, however, was quickly calmed upon exhale. This stuff is surprisingly smooth. The exhale is amazing. Everything I personally look for in my smoke. The flavors carry over very well when when burned. Everything is presented in the same order, from berry to tart to sugary to floral, but this time it almost tastes as if everything is in baked cake or toasted pop-tart form. In the bong, the flavor was very clean and delicious, lasting for quite some time after just one hit. I was really able to enjoy it when I got to sit down at home and roll one up. In joint form, the flavors are pronounced differently through different stages of the smoke. I recall a few hits tasting just like the purple Fun-Dip sugar with a chunk of the sugar stick. Once again, very few strains can satisfy me flavor wise to this degree.

Experience: The high was great! Nothing out of the ordinary. Nothing too crazy. I wasn't tired. I wasn't starving. I didn't have cotton mouth or red eyes. What I did have, was a super clear and clean high that came on strong and treated me well. Very cerebral. I would say this is great for temporal pressure and pain. Very very up and chatty high, almost like "I had a few cocktails and I'm buzzing" chatty. Came down well, feeling fine to continue my day.

Final Thoughts: A definite 9 out of 10. This strain is so young, there may even be room for improvement. For now, it's hard for me to give a ten. There is always something looming around the corner waiting to blow everyone away. However, where it stands right now, I definitely have a new name to add to my top five all-time favorite smokes. This makes having the seeds so much more thrilling for us. We cannot wait to crack them and find a good mom for our garden. Thank you Subcool and everyone at TGA for making this happen. I cannot wait to work with this wonderful flower. I only wish I had more to smoke right now.

Hope you enjoyed! If you haven't tried Plush Berry: Get on it quick.

Plush berry is currently my favorite girl. I'm sad because even though it was incredible I got some sterile nanners on her. That said, I'm debating throwing that clone into flower again. The smoke was....just...sooooo...goood.

I have two more girls from seed I just topped, I hope one of them turns out to be a stable pink girl.

eeeww, I don't like the sound of all those nanners....I'm sorry, but when I see that, it's in the trash I don't care how good it is. I've seen too many good grows go straight to hell over a hermie. Stuff does look bomb, but I think I'm gonna wait on that strain till I hear more reports.

Just received my Plushberry seeds. Will be mixing up some SuperSoil and giving this a go. Looks like a winner. I'm grateful for the people here experienced with both Plushberry and SS.

Will post pics soon.

There has been a lot of talk about hermies! I wonder how many are due to "operator error" and not just genetics. Not saying they are just wondering because my seed will show up in a few days.

I just ran some Super Silver Haze and was warned they could throw a nanner or two. Some strains have this possibility aside from user error. Not saying Plushberry is that way, as I don't know.

I wouldn't worry bout nanners completely, I have noticed on spacedawg that it gets nanners but they never seem to open. I run perpetual so surely i'd be finding seeds on something if they were spitting

^ same here.

I found one immature seed on the pandoras box. I am 99% sure it was from the flav. I saw one swollen nanner on the plant and yanked it a few days early. Everything else came out fine. I see a nanner here and there and just tweeze them. nbd
