okay so I'm running a 600w mh/hps right now for my first grow and my electricity bill is getting pretty expensive just wondering if anyone has ever used the Galaxyhydro 300w full spec L.E.D grow light? I'm on a tight budget so those are what I'm looking at I planned on getting two of them for my tent which is 96" H x 48" D x 78" W just wondering if I could get good yields using these considering they are so cheap. Also I'm not exactly sure how many plants I'd be able to run under that set up maybe 6??? 8??? Any help would be greatly appreciated

300w galaxy is only 130w actual draw.

So you're going from a 600w to 130w. You won't be happy with the results. You'd need 6 of those panels to even begin to cover that area effectively.

If you insist on taking the LED route, you need to spend good money. Otherwise your better off continuing to use the 600w hps. Worst comes to worst, just dim it to 75%, as there's no excuse to not have a dimmable ballast these days

I have a GalaxyHydro 300 and it works OK, better than CFL, not nearly as well as HPS. After 2 harvests with it, I'm looking to modify it with COBs and ditch the LED panel it came with. For a hundred bucks, it got me by for a while and it has a decent case that can be salvaged for the DIY build. Really, 1 to 2 plants per light is about right

Yeah the more I read the more I want to just cough up the money for a good one tho think I might do that after this years outdoor harvest. can you give me some specifics on your grows using it? How many plants, what size,veg/flowering time, yields etc.

I ran 2 bagseeds first and they were high quality but not very dense. About an ounce and a half each in an 18 x 24 space in organic soil. I then did 2 autos from Budha seeds and 1 failed to flower on 16/8 so that one doesn't count. The other auto yielded the same ounce and a half as the photos. Good quality but loose and light.
