Was that an intended or unintended disassembly?
Intended. I used to play (rather tinker) banjo 40 odd years ago. A few years ago I was going to start again. Long story short, I hadn't treated it well , it was in my shop for most of that time. Humidity, expansion, contraction fucked it up and it couldn't stay in tune past 10 min. I took it apart, consulted some pros and it would be way too expensive to fix a cheap banjo. I was advised to just get a new one. So I bought a mandolin

That bass I got a while back, well, it needs to be re-fretted. I guess I'm going to buy some tools and frets in the near future. I'm not paying some guy $300 bucks to re-fret a $100 guitar.

Other than that I've got it all fixed. Replaced the pickups and harness, fixed the neck, fixed the bridge and got the action nice and low. The frets are coming up near the G string (lol G-string) on frets 8-15 or so. It plays great unless you play in that area. The frets won't stay in when I push them down so I've got to pull them and I figure if I'm going to do that many I may as well replace them all.
