This is Democracy? An Entire Party So Scared of A Psychopath They Won't Acknowledge the Vote of the People?

The headline says they are turning the page, but the article is really about pathetic cowards who are scared to move forward after the election. The odd one is making the incredibly brave  step of acknowledging the will of the electorate and in turn is being attacked by the former Fascist-in-Chief:

On Sunday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) told CNN “it’s clear that — certainly based on what we know now — that Joe Biden is the president-elect” and argued “it’s important” that a normal transition of power begin.
Those comments elicited an angry response from Trump

This is democracy???

it's not the psychopath; it's what the psychopath does..no one wants an angry band of militia on their door step- trump just intimates the order ala Capo dei capi.

No, this is democracy struggling for life. This is the greatest test about whether we can maintain the democratic system since the Civil War. Time will tell how this goes. I like to think that our institutions will end up renewed and stronger as a result of it. Its possible - but so are a whole lot of bad things. Its going to take some time to find out.

Or like everything else, this is a illusion that the democracy is in jeopardy. Outside of a very freaky couple hours that those 2 Republicans almost disenfranchised me and hundreds of thousands of other voters in Wayne county, I haven't seen any actual evidence of Trump doing anything other than trolling and wasting people's time, money, and safety. Which is just what he has been doing since he took office in 2017.

Sorry folks I'm not big on current affairs not even the UK,s, but I'm wondering what's actually happening in America with trump, meaning why or how is democracy at risk?

You might think well Google it but I can't be arsed looking through it all then still not knowing wtf is happening, and I'm only going to get heavily biased news/info anyway.

Just the bones of the situation if anyone can be bothered?

It sucks, right now Trump has lost the election, but is trying to get some nonsense through the courts to try to peel away enough key votes to squeak through some wins, while also hoping some unscrupulous key official invalidates some votes in other areas that he has no chance at his nonsense lawsuits.

All in the hopes of finding some combination to try to keep the ball up in the air enough with the election results that it finally goes to congress (time deadline is I think sometime in mid-Dec) to decide the election, but it is a weird thing where the results put it in the Republicans hands. And then Trump has to hope that he has total control and every Republican in the house will put Trump over the country.

So really Trump has to get another perfect combination of cheating and crooks to squeeze another 4 years, again. But this time everyone had 4 years to stop this troll that Trump was going to pull back in 2016.

My take is that Trump lost and in no way do his lawsuits threaten our election. There is no evidence. Basically, his case rests on a logical fallacy: "The absence of evidence does not prove that a crime was not committed. " Trump is powerful enough to make a baseless claim and get the courts to look at it but his lawyers aren't allowed to lie in court. When asked, they admit there is no evidence and the judge throws the case out.

We've had four years of this. Noise. It's been a relentless wall of noise and cognitive dissonance coming from the highest office in the US. Distractions to keep people from focusing on the facts of the matter. The part I don't get is why people voted for him, but I recognize that they did in large enough numbers. Large enough numbers so that they are the threat. 70 million people who most clearly said they don't care about majority rule or rule of law, they want a leader who says what they want to hear. Many are armed, most clearly don't value human life (or they would wear a fucking mask) and from the rallies going on today, they don't much care about our Democracy. That's the real risk in all of this. Not in Trump's legal challenges to the election but the sheer number of people who consider the result invalid because their guy didn't win. This represents a shift in norms for this country and we don't really know where this path goes.
