You want to look at the the trichome heads on the calyxes (actual buds) as the sugar leaves will mature faster, it should be hard to find clear. If they are mostly all cloudy/milky and hard to find any clear you have entered the harvest window. Its about a 2 week window for the highest thc content then they begin to mature and turn amber converting to CBN. It is your preference on what ratio of cloudy to amber you would like to harvest. If your strain is sativa leaning or your looking for a more uplifting get shit done kinda high then you go with very little amber mostly cloudy/milky. If your growing indica dominant or looking to couch lock then you want a higher ratio of amber (let it go longer). Some will let it get 60% amber prior to harvest, others only 5% its all about what your growing and what your preference is.
Unless its a pure sat i like at least 20% amber personally theres no point in waiting for that amount with a pure sat imo but with a indica or indica leaning hybrids you should definitely wait for that amount of amber
