I’m still half way baking my super soil in a tarp.
Opened up tarp and notices little flea looking things crawling around it.

Any experience with these guy?

Should I put the soil put the soil in something else besides the tarp? Such as a bin?
I don’t make soil but think it would be better off in a container or a bag to prevent bugs best you can. Especially if the soil is gonna be used indoors. Dirt sold outside a bag usually gets used out doors and Vica versa. I don’t know your answer for sure. Just trying to help

That's a fungus gnats. It's normal but can get out if control if you don't stop them from reproducing. BTi is the bacterium you'll need to get rid of gnat larva. The larva are what damage plants, not the flying adults. Larva eat the roots and cause nutrient uptake issues and can also create a perfect storm for root pathogens and.

The other one that looks like a bee, I see them buzzing around my veggie patches outside alot in the summer. Wild flowers and marigolds too. They're of no real concern. Just nature's way of telling you, your soil has alot of diversity and is going to be quality.

Think you’re thinking of a “corn fly” they get really bad during the summer here also. Sometimes you’ll find your car completely covered by them in the mornings lol
They piss me off when I try to swat them away, they just hover and zip back n forth. Very fast, agile little bastards.

It sure as hell does!! I just got some and I haven't seen a single flying gnat for the last 5 days.
1 drop /100 gallons. I put 3 drop in a 4 gal spray tank. Hit em hard first!!!
Fuck, I hate gnats! Little shits have finally met their match. Mosquito dunks are a joke compared this this product. I think it's funny how a dropper bottle comes inside a larger can. But I definitely got my money's worth already!

I just add 3 drops every time I water. They must package that way for shipping. I thought is was funny too.

I go through a ton of water in my outdoor plots, was gonna install a few rain barrels. This will definitely come in handy now. Glad to know it can't really be over applied.
