germing - 4 hr. soak in waterglass. Tap water & 1 Tbl peroxide per 1/2 gallon. Then paper towels w/ saucers. Seeds popped in 24 hrs. Transplanted to MG Moisture control. Pushed green in 24 to 48 hrs. Seeds were planted 1/16th below surface. When second set of leaves got to size they were transplanted into a honest 1 1/2 gal converted waste basket and back filled to false leaves. 3-4 garlic cloves added to each pot.

Set-up
250 watt Digital MH/HPS w/ vented hood & exhaust (to room) fan.
Miricale Grow Moisture Control. Baked at 300 deg for 1/2-3/4 hr. Then flushed well before using on plants. Worm castings added when plants are introduced.
Top of plant temps controlled to 75-80 deg. F.
Strong under table ventilation used.
Germinated w/ CFLs in a cab
Room size 24 X 30 X 5+/- foot usable heigth. Small closet.

Intended additives to be used -
Veg - Big Bloom, peroxide, w/ mild flushing every 3rd to 4th watering. All water recieves at least 24 hrs. of oxygenating w/ air pump and stones before mixing & using.
Flower same as above with added Tiger / Big Grow. (may be revised)

Atitude seeds used (1 ea.);
Greenhouse Seeds, Jack Herre, Indica / Sativa
Delicouse Seeds, Super Silver Haze, 30% indica / 70% sativa
Barney's Farm, Laughing Buddha, mostly sativa Thia/Jam cross
Dinafem (UFO), Blue Widow, indica, Blueberry X widow
*all seed Feminized

A.jpgUgly? Wish I had a "before", my bad.

Objective;
Grow lots of bud (not leaves - LOL). Cloning intended.

WTF you mean DEFOLIATED. .and why would you do it to all of them. :D try a diff method on diff plants. normally on 1 strain tho. I have 5x diff grls im training 5x diff ways. all include lst. Topping, Fim, Supercrop, LST,HST

Not looking for the effects of different methods.
Looking for effect of method on different strains ranging from near full sativa to near full indica with hybreds that lean more one side or the other.

Edit
Note - there are so many strains out there and so many ways to grow. Seems often enough, that a good proven method seems to fail or diminish on new strains introduced to my grow.
This is to see if a hunch has merit (not to prove / disprove anything).

How long are you’re going to veg for and what’s the distance between bulb and top of the plant?

I do agree removing leafs does encourage new growth, but in my experience, it’s only worth doing once the plant has established it’s self, a lot of people just nip the ends of the leafs off which apparently gives a similar result, though again removing leafs allows extra light to the inside of the canopy. I would defiantly be adding silica to your water, in this case.

Hot Danged,, Hi Marcus, glad you made it.

How long are you’re going to veg for (I don't go by any set schedule on photoperiods. Ea. may be different. I let the plants tell me when they're ready)and what’s the distance between bulb and top of the plant? Not important. distance may vary, sometimes it's adjusted couple times per day or week. It's set / adjusted to maintain temp. I feel that can fluctuate mainly because of humidity - here that's a big variable.

I do agree removing leafs does encourage new growth, but in my experience, it’s only worth doing once the plant has established it’s self Really should of had a before picture (DANGED!) I watched and considered them ready. Trick is starting young to avoid hermies, a lot of people just nip the ends of the leafs off which apparently gives a similar result (errr,, not really), though again removing leafs allows extra light to the inside of the canopy. I would defiantly be adding silica to your water (not in the cards), in this case.

Hope you watch along. My foolish folly may prove interesting & entertaining (even if it fails - LOL).

cool, bet they are going to get al kinds of bushy! sub'd and +rep for being a pioneer.

Awwww shucks Stoner. You've been there / done that before? ;-)
I'll bet you already see the entertainment value too?:bigjoint:

... and just for you, a sneak-peak. (FIM / defoliation plus 3 days) ;-)

very nice. i noticed the holes in your pot. how did you do it? i used one of those tiny screw drivers, heated up the end with my lighter and pushed it through the plastic.

Hey Canon, nice experiment you got going on. The only way you learn about the different techniques to growing marijuana is to try them. Subbed +Rep!

Don't us h2o2 in soil. kills all the good micro bugs in the soil.

That is not absolutely correct,, but even if it is/was it don't matter. I guess you are thinking I'm trying a typical organic soil grow here? I'm not.

Is it a organic grow at all? I don't know, are the F.F. nutes listed organic?
I added nutes the day they got tranferred (about a week before I decided to do a journal on this).
It may help if you think of it as a slow, semi-organic(?), manual flood and drain with soil.
You may see a lot of things that are,,, outside the box(?), things that shouldn't be done, things that will stress most plants into dying, and who knows what. Most of these ideas are considered factual and truisms. You may end up being surprised that many of these "don'ts" can be useful tools if used in certain ways.
How many times have you heard Miricale Grow is shit soil?
Okay, in that case I'm doomed anyways.
Anyone is welcomed to pull up a chair and join in with questions.
Enjoy the show. :bigjoint:

Cannon, you can more engourage inner growth imply lowering the lamp a few inches, 6-7 inches with 250w hps, though you have to be on ball to make sure they dont grow to much to burn, I decided to box in my lamp in a sealed air cooled box behind glass, plants can now be close as 2-3 inches from bulb, not burnt one yet. Ill be doing a wee small update today at some point, just need to find some thing bigger and stonge enough to lift the plants up.

I have never done or seen these methods done to MJ, but have done it to other plants, that is how i guessed that they would get all bushy.
