I’m growing in this comparative on another forum and I’m over here checking out everyone’s Brooklyn’s and Blue Dream’matic. Looking good everyone, I can’t wait till my girls finish up. I want to share a pic on here of my Brooklyn, I only have one but I have four Blue Dream. I grow in a 5x5 tent with 320w QB’s and 675w led/cob using coco for medium. Here’s my Brooklyn at around 36-38 days old, she’s already shown sex and has been stretching for a few days. The Brooklyn is in the middle of the group pic

I’m very pleased with both of these strains and they have been a fairly easy grow. They have handled topping, lst, defo/trimming really well and I’m thinking they are gonna yield very good overall in my 5x5. Good luck everyone and I will post another pic in a couple weeks, cheers everyone.✌

harvested last week. didn't get much, but i don't blame the plant, i shouldn't have transplanted them, and then over fed them. got 3/4 dry, and it was very good, nice and skunky, with a good after taste and a good high. started another , in it's final pot, and am staying very low on ppm. looking a lot better than the last one.

that's a 3 gallon bag rolled down about half way, as they grow i'll unroll them and add more medium.

about a month into the second run. these are doing much better. just added more peat, got the bags almost full now.
been keeping the ppm at 200 or below, feeding every third watering.

been switching them in and out of the crowded flower room, so they get 11 hours of 600 watt hps every other day. ought to have room to be able to get them both in there daily in a week or two.

So this grow was going good until my extraction fan quit working about 2 weeks before the plant was ready for harvest so I fresh froze the plant and made some shatter. Almost 3 grams from 1 Brooklyn Sunrise and it's fire .has good flavor and is very potent. I'm going to run some more of these as soon as I get some open space .IMG_20181009_104801476.jpg

these are forming up so much nicer than the first run. got a little room, so i started the other 3 seeds of each i have.
they like the adding soil method a lot better than transplanting, and i've been keeping the nutes down to 200 ppm every third watering.
they're both( the BDA and the BSA) getting 11 hours a day of 600 watt hps, then back into the veg tent for 300 watts of t5s for the rest of the day

just put the seeds in the pots today, lets see what they do by next week

Hi Roger, you are a far more experienced grower than I am, you probably have more plants growing right now than I have ever grown, but I have never heard of working this way before and I am trying to get my head around it.
As I understood it, normally you would try to fill a pot with roots, then pot up and the roots would generally go down and out into the new soil.
With your method the roots would fill the bag, then you add more soil on top. Do the roots then grow upwards towards the surface?
Obviously it works, as your pics show, but I am just interested in learning something new and what benefits it may bring. It obviously is less stressful and has less risk of damaging the plant than transplanting.

sure, roots only stop growing out and away from the root crown because there's nothing to grow in. haven't you ever had a plant with roots right under the surface of the pot? if you add soil to the top of the pot, it will certainly fill that soil with roots. the stem you bury will also grow more roots, and fill it out even more.

Put that way it makes perfect sense. My plants are so squat that I wouldn’t be able to bury them by much, but thanks for the explanation.

I am not going to lie, it isn’t something I knowingly do to cause it, apart from using LST on them during veg.
Led lightbulbs seem to produce very little stretch and really closely spaced nodes. It may be because i can have them really close to the plants (as in a few inches away) or because i have 12 different light sources in a small area, or a mix of both. Not 100% on the exact reason to be honest!
It is great because i only have 32” to start with, take away the pot height of about 10” and say 7” for bulbs and holders and i only have just over a foot before i hit the lights.
Downside is my plants are so short and compact i need to keep on my toes to ensure there is a decent airflow through them - mould is always something I check for. I rotate the plants a few times a day to help keep this at bay
Found out today that @diyled is based only a couple of miles from my house, so i will probably be investing in some samsung led strips from him next spring - i have enough bud to keep my wife going until next summer, which means I don’t need to struggle with icy temps in a cold garage, so i am having a grow break over winter. Led strips will mean i gain an extra 5” or so in grow height, and should mean less heat/ lower total wattage for the same or greater light output. And they will look more professional than 12 bulb holders from Wilko’s screwed into some wood!
