so i tracked down where I got my sativa from 2 years ago, have about 90 seeds of the stuff... picked out 30 of the best looking seeds (they are much smaller that indica seeds, characteristics of sativa.)

so after they germinate and reach the 2nd 3rd stage I will judge how sativa they look and cull out the ones that don't look sativa enough.

so this has still been going well, of the 20 or so I sprouted, 2 or 3 of them look /very/ sativa, the rest look like sativa dominant hybrids. I will wait till they reach the 3rd or 4th stage before I start culling out the ones that look more indica.

I may take pics today, it all depends on what I have going on.

heya, just been lurking alot, but im very interested to see how this goes for you, i have yet to smoke a pure indica, i smoked somthing from my dispensary that said it was pure sativa, but i could still feel the couch like kinda thing so i was lied to...anyways very interested happy growing and i really hope i can follow in your footsteps one day and have a pure landrace, but im in michigan so it might have to be an indica lol

yeah that's definitely a lie if you still felt the couch lock... pure sativas are almost completely head highs.

pure indica isn't much without afghanica crossed into it, that's what the classic kushes are.

so far all the seedlings are doing great, I have them under 24 hour light right now because I got clones going... the issue is I don't know that I be able to run them because of how long they take to sex.

I may just keep one space open for sativa just in case, but right now it's not looking too good this year for me growing sativa outdoors, I'm still hoping but these things take like over a month or two to sex and I'm nowhere near that.

shtty :/ better luck next year, just grow em big and healthy, then throw em outsde next spring for flowering :D
well I have 16 of them outside, about 10 of them got purpling in the middles... I'm very stoked.

I'm just hoping they sex faster because I had them under 24 hour light for a few days before putting them outdoors.

hopefully it'll shock them into sexing.

too late in the season for me to use them this year but i"ll still return the favor when my seed batches are done at the end of the season.

for sure thanks for your interest.

upon talking to several knowledgeable people it's come to my attention that true ass sativas are far from gone, they're just rare in the states ;). one day I will for sure have the sativa I dreamed of. I may already have it, time will tell.

if i may ask though... why does it HAVE to be pure sativa i mean there are(few as they may be) some indica sativa's out there, obviously leaning on the sativa side, that give you pure sativa highs... or atleast pretty darn close ^^ i ask because your answer will teach me something that i don't already know.... promise im not criticizing ^^

actually you are right that is what I am trying to pull off. at one point I thought it wasn't possible but it is, just very very hard to do.

I'd like to get pure sativa genetics to cross with sativa hybrids to bring out pure sativa highs.

so far my 16 seedlings are flourishing. they wont be sexed before my time limit but I will leave 2-3 holes open for them and replant them into big pots so they keep up with the other plants to an extent and I should still get good yeilds off of them.

I will take pics in a few days when more significant growth has occured, so far it's going very smoothly.
