The Start of My New Future Sativa Strain!

I just got 3 high quality seeds out of some mexican brown weed my mom had from 10 years ago. I know the roots of it is some dank sativa, I've smoked it before and it had a very intense head high.

since I have 3, I have enough to start females and males, so I will be inbreeding it to climatize to the northern california desert.

the main reason I'm posting this is because I realize that sativa genetics are few and farbetween nowadays. I'm hoping I have some rare sativa genetics, hopefully the potency is good, if it isn't I have a few other sativas I can cross it to.

the main implication here is that if sativa is almost extinct compared to the way it was decades ago, I think I can do a little bit to help.

and I can also see demand for sativas going up in th e future.

this is more of a journal to post pictures of the seedlings and the bud, I will post back every now and then to post pictures.

I also plan to sell this strain's clones to the local dispensary out here, I will make a good name for it so you may be able to track it down if you live anywhere near me (I'm not going to say where I live but the strain name will help you locate it.)

hope you all are interested, I love indicas and now that I've got the best indica I've ever had I want to expand and get the best sativa I"ve ever had, I will be on a constant search to re-establish atleast a COUPLE unique sativa strains that genetically stand out.

for sure it will be a long haul indeed... I expect this project to not be completed for years, but I happily embrace it!

Oh so your gonna start from scratch and try to make your own sativa? That's awesome.
not exactly from scratch... a 10 year old strong bricked sativa seeds are a pretty good start imo, I've heard of some very legendary sativas coming out of bricked mexican bud.

cool! cant wait 2 see the progress. i only smoke sativa and sativa dominant hybrids... i can control it somewhat bc they sell medicinally based on whether u need sativa or indica here. i dont know how accurate the despensaries are about labeling or if their sources are 100% accurate?are

do u think they r? i doubt it, it;s not tht well regulated. even prescription drugs r not always the same based on manufacturer and thats regulated.

i subscribed :)

they're accurate on the indicas and hybrids, pure sativas they lie a lot about.

none of the landrace sativas are extinct, at least not most of them.

you just have to go to the places that grow them (and be pretty good at getting to know people)

its just thats its all about money here in the west now, sativas are not the same moneymaker and cant be grown so good here (at least in quantities, more like a connoiser stash)

when its legalized, im sure lots of these strains will come back to the west.

got some vietnam sativa myself last year(only got it because i know people there)

I don't know how we can be so sure they're extinct or not since we don't have anyone going there and checking... but regardless.

hopefully the sativa seeds I got out of that mexi brick are of a good sativa. I doubt I'll get anything else for a while unless someone hooks me up.

I'm also going to be climatizing whatever sativa strains I grow, every generatino out in this area they get more adapted and better buds. I don't want to hybridize with anything, I want a pure sativa climatized.

Yeh, you can still get them if you know where to look. I just got some Brazillian Punta Roja and Manga Rosa.

But good luck with those. All the brick weed I ever tried to grow out was crap. Hermie tendency, lots of males, stuff like that. Hopefully you'll have better luck.

well I'm not an indoor grower (besides vegging...) so hermies are likely to not be an issue.

even plants that are known to hermaphrodite are much less likely to do it outside in their natural environment.

so far one of the sativa brick seeds is poking out a little root! waiting on the other two... done everything I can do germination wise, all I can do now is wait.

I just really want that authentic sativa high, I'm sick of these hybrids, I want nothing but pure sativa for a sativa strain, not some middle of the ground shit, or mostly there shit that claims to be pure when it isn't....

so hopefully this project results in a good wirey sativa that will eventually be stable in this area!

but at this very moment I'm going to blaze some of chitowns sour kush green bubba pheno... the best afghani I've ever had... knocks me the fuck out!

Dude i got some 100% pure sativas from the phillipines, (pardon my spelling). 18 weeks flower, and suppose to be a 8hour head high.

Im doing a test run as we speak to test the quality and see if they are what they really say they are. i have about 15 seeds, im doing 1 at a time until i get a female than going to flower it out and see if it it what it says it is.

I will keep you in mind, if you would like a few beans, these are from my buddy who lives there, so i trust the guy but cant be 100% sure until i try it

I have a Landrace Sativa Skunk(skunk is just what the family calls it) my uncle brought back from Vietnam in '74. Have yet to find a modern hybrid that even comes close to the high. But its a touchy fuck to grow but well worth the effort. I have 2 flowering now. Good luck Poplars, hope they pan out for you.....

that sounds GREAT I'd love to get that strain and climatize it to my area... that would probably make it flower faster.

i doubt the people over there have stopped smoking and thats what they got. many of those places barely have internet and electricity is spotty and indicas dont grow so good over there (vietnam for example)

the bad news though, is that since the governments over there listened to the drugpropaganda and are considerably harsher than ours, its dropped real underground. but its still around. people always like getting high.

yeah I'm just afriad we're going to lose some seriously epic sativas that we may never be able to repalce... people need to realize that you may have something that your tolerance isn't adjusted to, and once it is it may be considerably better than you think.

but most of the time I would assume these pure sativas would be evident in how potent their highs are, as they are so different from their indica counterparts.
