The Scene in Antigua

Have any of you been to the island of Antigua? If so, could you please tell me what one might expect as far as finding some MJ there? I realize I'm not going to find any medical grade there but hoping to not go without all week.

Thanks all!

Hey,

Cant speak for buying from Antiguans, but Ive travelled in the Bahamas and Barbados in the Caribbean. Here are my experiences:

There will occasionally be those enterprising souls on the islands who seek out tourist spots and target you to pedal their wares. I would say you have a 50/50 chance of tehm giving you honest decent prices with decent herb, but theres also the chance you get crap oregano or assorted spices mix in a baggy for 50 bucks. Never go with them to pick it up, say I will wait here and you can go get it. Ill say this again: NEVER go with them to pick it up (theres a story here, but in general its a bad idea) They will ask you for money up front, before you see the stuff. Its best if you can get them to agree to accept payment later, but if not maybe pay half now half later.

Now with these types of dealers, i recommend buying SMALL amounts, as 7/10 times youll find shwag at the end of the deal. If you find a good dude, get his name and go back to the same place asking for him to the other sellers (my favorite was named Bowlegged Mike), to buy more once you know its legit.

The most success ive found is from going to bars in town that arent so touristy and meeting local islanders (in their 20s) who could point me in the right direction. Weed exists in these places, even abounds, but you have to know where to look. The people i met in some random piano bar tracked down an eighth for me that night, and i picked it up from them the next night when we went out to a bar together again. It was a great supplement to the gram of schwag id bought on the beach the day before.

To get good prices from the beach sellers, talk up the dealer, figure out where hes from, what he does, does he mind tourists taking over his island, etc. I always have found that dealers with the discretion to give x amounts to you will give more if they like you. They will give less and charge more if they think you are a no-nothing first time traveler too, so tell them that youve been to lots of different islands like this one and had to find good stuff on all of them.

The price you pay ought to depend on the quality of the herb they are trying to sell, so its hard to gie you a good price estimate, but im sure you can figure something out/

hope this helps

Thanks for the input. I have been to Jamaica a few times so I know the deal with having to look around for the good stuff, as well as talking it down to a reasonable price. I was really hoping to find someone who has been there before but it doesn't seem to be a popular place.
