The Rodelization Method

I have never heard of this term until I just read a post about it on RIU. I have however heard about a very similar technique. An old time farmer not so long ago told me how he always keeps his seed stock replenished. He flowers his plants for at least 3 months. He described it in the same manner as described in the post I just read. At the end of her life cycle, if she is not producing seeds, in a last ditch effort of survival, she will produce a male nanner or two and self pollinate. He claims 99% of all his seeds are female seeds, due to both parents being female. Now, I brought that up on RIU right after I heard of it, I got ridiculed because all that it meant was that his plants/seeds are hermies and nothing more. Well the way that I understand it now, all cannabis is a hermie. If the plant is stressed with nutes, survival kicks in and it turns hermie. Stress it with environment, survival kicks in and it turns. Stress it with a sensamillia crop and survival kicks in and it hermies. And before everybody jumps down my throat about that last statement, lets think about what a true hermaphrodite is. By definition it is having both male and female reproductive organs on the same individual. That means if you grow a plant from seed and love it, and stroke it and call it George, and it has never been stressed but yet it flowers with both staminate and pistillates, then it is a true hermaphrodite. As a true hermie it's offspring is going to be male, female or hermie. Makes sense right? But if environmental stress causes a dioecious plant to turn monoecious, then it is already genetically wired to have the hermie gene coded into it, so the resulting offspring is still going to be male, female or hermie. So I don't see how this "Rodelization Method" can be so bold to state that you will get female seeds. Would you still have an evenly mixed ratio of male, female and hermaphrodite seeds??

hands down the the worst way to make femized seeds. also if a breeder is pushing fem seeds created via rodelization method, then they can blow every registered user on RIU. for example... if you grow out 10 female plants, and a couple of them put out nanners via rodelization.. and you then breed with this pollen, you effectively just passed on the most hermie prone genetics of your parent stock. and if you then sell these seeds.. then you are a scumbag. the rodelization method is the sole reason that fem seeds get/have gotten such a bad wrap all these years. rodelization is essentially selective breeding, targeting the hermie trait as the focal point of selection. Care to drop any further knowledge Trousser or Kite?

I read, I believe in Greg Green's book, the only way to breed a true XX female is to stress the fuck out of her. Run a 12/12 light cycle for a week and then give her a 24hr daylight period before putting her back into 12/12. Do this a few times, change up her cycles, stress the hell out of her. If she stays true she is a XX female with no hermie traits.

I think the best fem seeds are created the way you first described, letting the plant go much longer, collecting that pollen and using on an other female/s of ur choice. Just how Soma makes his fem seeds. I personally prefer to make reg seeds. Plant 2-3 per container and pull the male.
