The revelation of Cantor’s role in the scandal raises dramatic new questions.

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor spoke to an FBI whistle-blower two weeks ago who accused then-CIA Director David Petraeus of having an extramarital affair and potentially jeopardizing the security of classified information, according to a news report.
Cantor’s chief of staff, Steve Stombres, later spoke with FBI officials to pass on the accusations from the whistle-blower, the New York Times reported on Saturday night.
Why doesn't Eric Cantor want Petraeus to testify about Benghazi?1!!!

in this whole scandal, all I really care about, is why does nobody seem to even give a shit that the government can read your fucking email with out telling you that you're under investigation...

Don't give me the he could be a terrorist BS, he was fucking his biographer. I would have probably fucked her too, not because she is hot, but because men generally have no shame.

Two reasons ac, one being when an official receives the high security clearance that Petraeus had, they sign away some of their civil liberties to the FBI, The FBI can monitor bank accounts, emails, medical records, and look for red flags such as large unexplainable deposits of money, history of addiction, membership on a marijuana forum, etc, anything that might affect the official and his credibility.
Two, alot of the reports seem to be saying that it is the result of a cyber stalking/threatening investigation between Petraeus' mistress and a socialite friend of Petraeus. Any type of cyber crime particularly the interstate type is a federal offense and falls under the FBI's juridiction.

To me the most concerning aspect of this is that the acting director of the CIA thought that gmail was a secure enough e-mail to use for shit that could cost him his job.I mean, are the fucking analysts using aol or some shit? Are they doing yahoo searches to find terrorists?
What The Fuck.

The Federal governemnt has been monitoring every bit of US internet traffic for nearly a decade now. As soon as 9/11 was over and the equipment could be ordered, delivered and installed, every internet supplier in the US has had sniffers on them.

Actually, they have had access to your email since 1994. You're missing my point, he didn't even know that the government was snooping. The technology allows the government to track IP addresses that log into the account and even has an FBI interface with much more access on some sites. It isn't in the job description that you sign your privacy away, it's in the EULA of the site where you sign it away.

Ask Deprave, I bet he knows all about it.

If it is in the EULA, then the person signs those rights away upon agreeing to the contract.

Yeah, it's surreptitious to say the least, but no one is forcing anyone to enter into one of these contracts. The only arguement I see is that because of the need to use technology in daily life, there is some sort of implied force used in getting people to agree to it.

If enough people cared, they would demand that the gov't not force companies to impose such privacy agreements upon users. So, yeah, my problem is that people don't give a shit.
