The perfect mutation/Natural topping

Seems like mutations are becoming more and more common. But this is the perfect mutation. Crop king seeds Early miss auto. Almost 3 weeks old. 2 stems coming from one side of the node. If we could only breed this into plants.. twice the stems should equal twice the bud right lol?20190416_195942.jpg

Wonder if it will do that on other nodes.
It did do it again. So this is the top of the branch on the other side of the previously shown. mutated node so both branches from that node split eventually. This time it's more of a split like it got topped. But it looks like a small leaf is still trying to grow straight out properly. It will be interesting to see what happens with this. She is almost 4 weeks old and starting to preflower now. I almost wish I could clone this girl. Just to see if it happens again. 20190422_095054.jpg

Mutations happen .... in all seed stock from time to time.
Some dormant trait or wonky grow. Had an auto once throw branches on one side only ... weird but still flowered .

You will find many reviews of crap king seeds . Many germ issues and stunty shit. I stopped using there gear as it seems a bit inconsistent.
Although they seem more like distributors than actual breeders and may be slinging more bunk than good stock . I ran 11 and got 3 to finish .

Same shit i ran into with Cali Connection seeds .... crap.

You could hit it with pollen and see if it passes the trait on.

So I take back what I said earlier. It has done this on multiple nodes now and from the looks. It is stunting growth. The teeny buds on those branches that split later look pathetic compared to the branches that grew properly. Even the 1st split at the beginning of this post isn't doing the best compared to a "normal branch." All in all, friggin crap king seeds got me. Though the other seed I popped with this one is doing wonderfully. The 3rd seed I popped does not seem to act the same as #1 or #2 so I'm seeing inconsistency that I dont like. I'm a quick learner though. I'm wanting to do some dinafem xxl moby dick as the next seed run. I know something from mephisto will be good. But I'll maybe save that for this winter. Once I have a few good runs under my belt.

So, you're saying that this mutation is causing the plant to be stunted?...Or that the plant just so happened to become stunted? You do tend to see strange mutations and phenotypes be more likely to be stunted and such. I hope that you have better luck next time buddy. Try Delicious Seeds, Bomb Seeds, or Mephisto. All good auto breeders.

To answer your question honestly lol I'm not sure which caused which or if there is a correlation at all. I do know that the bud structure / color / resin production / bud size thus far the mutations do not seem to be helping. This is the mutated plant and a pic of the best bud sites growing on it Which is a branch that did not mutate as the mutated branches are way smaller lol. 20190427_171244.jpg 20190428_212536.jpg and this is the other plant. Much better bud structure and color and growth and just about everything lol. These are both exactly 1 month old today. Much faster than I expected with these. 20190427_171252.jpg 20190428_212137.jpg

To answer your question, I'm not sure which happened first or if there's a correlation between mutations and stunting of the plant. What I do know is it definitely doesn't look like the plant that's doing good. Lol.

EF4FAFF3-E3C5-4428-A338-8673560382A1.jpeg 2 auto’s the same strain...one has its dad’s genetics and one it’s mum’s. Dad’s baby is taller and light green, mum’s baby is darker and shorter and flowering more quickly.

Who was the breeder? I think these are all signs that the plants are not bred far enough down the line to be stable. Going with mephisto seeds from now on lol. Hope to get some consistency there.
