The New Jersey incident (aka the Obama song)

So, Faux News has been on about this song performed by some school children in New Jersey. The song "praises" Obama and has conservatives shitting all over themselves about indoctrination and calling for the school officials to be fired. Take note that this incident actually happened back in February, and there was no "controversy" over it until Faux News picked up the story and has been ramming it down their veiwer's throats for the past two days.

Here's the clencher: In 2006, after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the gulf coast (and Bush and FEMA's feeble response to the catastrophe) children from the gulft coast sang Bush's praise!!

Excerpt of lyrics:

Our country's stood beside us People have sent us aid. Katrina could not stop us, our hopes will never fade. Congress, Bush and FEMA People across our land Together have come to rebuild us and we join them hand-in-hand!

I wonder why Faux News didn't consider that a controversy back in '06, and call for vindictive firings and "investigations" into the incident.

Moral of the story: Faux News is about as fair and balanced as a weighted baseball bat.

replace "Fox News" with "any MSM news name here" and it holds water.

I wouldn't go quite so far as to say that. I think Fox News takes it a bit further than anyone else.

I mean, this whole Obama song thing has barely been mentioned by anyone else, yet Fox News has had at least three headlines on their front page today about it.

You should go read it, and check out some of the comments from Fox readers at the bottom. It's absolutely frightening. Every other comment is nazi this and "indoctrination" that.

Fox is feeding these people fear and hate. It almost makes me wish we were a socialist country, and someone could take them off the air.

My problem is with Fox News spinning this story into some kind of "controversy", when there was NO MENTION of "indoctrination" when schoolchildren sang a song that praised George W. Bush. In fact, I can't find any mention of that on Fox News AT ALL.

It's okay when schoolchildren sing songs of praise to a republican president, but when they sing songs about obama it's a step towards communism?

If you can't see the lack of rationale for this, then something is wrong with YOU - not me.

LMAO at people that hate Fox News but still watch it and add to their viewer numbers.

They should send disgruntled liberals thank you cards.

No, its not OK to sing songs of praise to the president no matter the party affiliation.

And yes ... Fox News leans right of center, just like CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, CNN and NPR lean to the left of center. So what?

Why do libs always say uh uh well bush did it too. Who cares you guys slamed bush every step of the way and he took it like the Prez should take it. Oduma has to call the media out for pointing out all the bad stuff, well get a pair oduma. Either way no school should do this to the kids. If I was a parent there my kid would be pulled out until that priciple resigned. She knows what she was doing and its wrong.

Obviously you're confused about what actually happened.

The PRINCIPLE had nothing to do with the song. It was a TEACHER at the school who had the children singing about Obama. That TEACHER has since retired.

Again, the principle was NOT involved.
