The Mothers of Invention

Unless you've been hanging out with your bong to much you have heard I was able to secure a very old cutting of the Original AK-47. I am excited because this is even older than the one I sampled in Holland in the late 90's that I liked so much. This particular clone came complete with buds that smelled heavy of Cherry and tar and the pictures from the owner were of huge buds.

The mother clone goes a full 70 days to maturity.

Tune in and hang on as we follow one of our new mommies into the bud room and to maturity.

ak-47 is a good commercial plant but the taste isnt so good. The older version had a better taste but lower yields then the newer ak-47 and ak 48..Looks good so far will be nice to see an older version grown to refresh the memory

High there, subcool?
I love your stuff (posts & comments). You and I have a lot in common (sort of).

Sorry to hear about the plant, but as you well know, you can't know for sure until you grow it yourself. Good luck with the next one!

I can see you are really into genetics (for obvious reasons). I, like you, have been playing with mj gene's for a long time.

The grow room that I'm involved with, has 2 strains.
One is a 'Heirloom' Kush that dates from the early 80's, & has a 'black licorice' taste that always pleases. Not the biggest yielder, however many of the best (tasting & high) types aren't. Real 'Old school' genetics it is.

The other one, is of my own creation. Hawiian X Jamacian = HiJam. Pure sativa, very reminiscent of original HAZE, although I've never tasted anything else quite like it. Both the seeds from the parent plants were gleaned from vacation buds from the early 90's.

Right now we are germinating some Mexican sativa seeds from the 1970's, and guess what? A couple of the seeds have cracked-open. We're hoping for something good for outdoors next year.

Good luck with your next one, maybe it will be the next "Northern lights"!

Keep the faith!
