The Lincoln Project

Anyone familiar with this? Thoughts?

I've heard about this- it's legit..super-pac run by repubs to elect dems.

Electing Democrats who support the Constitution over Republicans who do not, is a worthy effort.

The Political Spectator, Jeffrey Lloyd:
You can’t make it up.

A group of “Republicans” has banded together, laughably calling themselves “The Lincoln Project.”

I have a better name for what they are about: The Me-Too Project. And to borrow from their own description, they are, like all Me-Tooers, bogus prophets out to replace conservatism with an empty faith.

The headline in their New York Times op-ed (the Washington Post must have been busy that day) was this:

We Are Republicans, and We Want Trump Defeated

The president and his enablers have replaced conservatism with an empty faith led by a bogus prophet.

The four people behind this, all Never Trumpers, are George T. Conway III, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver, and Rick Wilson. Of note: Schmidt is not a Republican. He went out of his way in June 2018 to tweet that he was leaving the GOP
.

It's just politicians doing what politicians do.
Raise money, give speeches, raise money ...

Are you guys the party of Lincoln still? Or are you the party that gets triggered when we tear down statues of the slave rapers who committed treason against Lincoln?

George Conway on Trump: 'So dumb that he doesn’t know how to spell outrageous'

Is it amusing that they choose to name themselves with the only President to suspend Americans "rights" as declared in the constitution, namely the writ of habeas corpus. The only president to declare martial law?

He blockaded southern ports, shutdown 300 newspapers, banished Clement Vallandigham, a congressman from Ohio, to the confederacy after the military arrested him. After hearing the Chief Justice had ruled against the suspension of the writ of habeas corpus, that what Lincoln did was unconstitutional, Lincoln reportedly signed an (unserved) arrest warrant for the Chief Justice. Maybe he was just blowing off steam.

Psst....John Adams...alien and sedition acts.

There wasn't enough death in that war.

perhaps it was because of the word 'confederacy'?

con = anti
federacy = federation

Not even close.

The original world is confederacie, meaning: a contract between two or more persons, states, etc., for mutual support or joint action,

It's the blending of the latin root con meaning jointly, and foedus meaning a league. The word comes from the PIE root bheidh with means faith. Not a very good linguist are you?

i don't believe you bunny.

union = united

Yes sweets, union comes from the latin, unus, meaning "of one," or unity. Which comes from the PIE oino meaning one or unique. Hence where we come come up with uno in Spanish.

The two sides wanted to one up each other, trying to see who could come up with the best propaganda why killing your own fellow countrymen was justified.

Are you guys the party of Lincoln still? Or are you the party that gets triggered when we tear down statues of the slave rapers who committed treason against Lincoln?

That's right, you guys are now the party of Lincoln.

Lincoln didn't believe blacks should have the same rights as whites. Counterpoint, LBJ thought blacks were easily manipulated, and white democrats could easily subjugate them when he said, "I'll have those n*****s voting democratic for 200 years."

Lincoln belonged to an elite group of white men who opposed blacks having the right to vote, to serve on juries, to hold office and to intermarry with whites. Robert Byrd unanimously won the title of Exalted Cyclops in the KKK which only was given to those really dedicated members who think those same things.

So that's why I don't support either Republicans or Democrats. Both sides are elite groups who dehumanize people based on petty garbage, and don't leave people alone to live their life free from their bigotry and hatred.
