The gym i used to go to i felt the same way how the hell do i use this thing. Come to find out all the ones where i went had pictures and instructions on how to use them. If i was still unsure id jisy go walk on a treadmill and watch other people on how they use some of them.

So I want to loose weight and I’ve never really wanted to go to a gym but I might feel more confident if I go with my friend who’s already invited me before. What kind of exercises should I do if I just want to loose fat? I have anxiety about not knowing how to use the machinery.

Cardio and weight training. More muscle more fat loss. Don’t worry about other ppl if you are worried find a planet fitness. That place is full of morons that have zero idea of what they’re doing sooooo your good. All machines have diagrams on them instructing you on how to use said machine so don’t worry. If you want a treadmill for home get a good one. Gympros.com has reconditioned commercial treadmills for 75% off of them new. I got the techno gym excite run 900 for 2600 bucks new they’re like 13000. It’s been a stellar treadmill I run 5 miles a day and have had zero issues with it.

Funny thing is the only gym I’ve ever been in where I got any kind of aggro was a planet fitness lol. Might have just been a random bad day but it stands out to me. Lots of people love them so ymmv.

Usually people are pretty self absorbed with their own workouts and I don’t mean this in a bad way really. They’re worried about the same thing you are. The big egos tend to stare at themselves more than anything heh.

I made some good friends last gym memebership I had just being there day after day. A few of them smoked too which was a pleasant surprise.

Still if the gym is stress don’t bother. You want to feel good about. If you have a nice park or nice places to hike you can design your own workout without the cost of a memebership.

The person who said weights and cardio I agree with. Would add that you want to do more higher repetition weights on big muscle groups. So weight that you can lift or push 15-20 times before tiring.

Cardio though I highly recommended interval training over regular cardio. If you’ve not been getting exercise this would be something to build up to but it is the best fat burner I’ve found. I’d be happy to explain more if you want or if you google high intensity interval training (HIIT) you’ll find tons of articles on it.

Also I have a 30 minute cut off for high intensity anything. Weights can go longer but I feel the body heals faster and stronger if you keep the intense part of the workout to 25 minutes or so.

I would recommend super or giant sets w comfortable weights at first and work your way up. When u super or giant set it keeps the heart rate up longer and u burn more fat while you're strengthening. I wouldn't worry about what anyone at the gym thinks. If they're worried about or clowning on what you're doing, then f 'em. Getting healthy and in shape is fun and so is learning how to. We all make mistakes when we first start out and for every dumbass that wants to make it their business, there is 100 people who want to do nothing but help.

Don't overthink it. Just start going. At the beginning I had no clue what I was doing so no prob. You will learn with time. Though if you want to beginner tip. - first, start exercising each muscle group in different days - chest, arms, legs, back, shoulders. After a while when you experience progress you can combine those muscle grous - Chest + arms (For example) because you will need more frequency when you are advanced. good luck

Cardio will burn calories, making you lose weight. You just need to burn more calories than you intake. You will lose muscle weight if you do not keep up your protein intake during this time. If your muscles have what they need, your body will eat the fat for calories instead.

If that is you in the avatar pic, you don't need to lose weight.

hey mate, get into it, push ups, pull ups, sit ups, dips, squats, lunges, calf raises

do 4 sets of each of these until failure, (so if u can do 20 do 20, if u can only get out 5 just do that, rest for 45 secs, and do again, 4 times = 4 sets)

28 sets all up, most of my work outs are about 30 sets approx.

work outs take 1 hour to 1.5 hours a day for me but i do bench and bent over rows dead lifts as well.

i do it all from home i went to the gym for years and realized i didnt need it, i also spent 20 mins at least driving to and from and 20 mins preparing to leave the gym or go to the gym each day, now i just walk onto my verandah and do it, saving money and time and closer to loved ones

also nutrition is very important i have being studying nutrition and all forms of exersize that are out there and how it is all used. whether it is power lifting, body building, weight loss, boxing all kinds u name it, HIIT, or stretching, yoga.
the list goes on.

whether it is vegan or carnivore, mediteranian or vegetarien.

ive looked at alot of stuff, i will admit i wasted alot of my 18 to 22 years old so 4 years smoking bowls with mates out of highschool. but i moved away and now i dont have the distractions, u can do it in home town but u need to learn to do you, dont get influenced by family or friends to eat shit and drink crap whether its soda or alcohol.


u need to figure out your goals, talk to professionals whether it be online or in person it doesnt matter, to figure out the steps, u need to actually consistently every day do the work and make the sacrifice and 100% u will acheive your goals, if u are not ready u will not reach them, u will likely fail and waste alot of time like me and so many others, the key around this and to hit goals qucikly and not wasste time is to remain 100% focused, dedicated, every single day, if u cant train because your sore, go for that hour walk, get a soccer ball and go kick it at the oval for a hour it flys by, have a joint and go kick some footys and get into it.

trust me its not that hard ay. anyways mate i hope u make the positive changes in your life, health and fitness is underrated. good for mental health also and u get higher when u get high hahaha
