Hello everyone, my name is Green Santa.

I used to be Endur0xX but I put on a costume.

My perpetual grow will be shown here from now on.

All details about my setup can be found here https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/529386-fero-336x3w-more-perpetual-12-a.html

As most of you know, my main lights are FERO and AREA 51, I also have a few smaller units that I use for side lighting, not always on though, 2 kessil H350, 1 x 100watts Diamond Series.

Here is a few pics of the last couple months

I am currently vegging a few plants, but most of my work has been 12/12 from seed and I will continue to experiment with this growing style as soon as I am done with the plants that are being sexed right now.

This journal is meant to show what can be done with LEDs, I hope you stick around for more juicy fat frosty colas!

Happy Growing everyone,
Green Santa :eyesmoke:

Nice macros. Do you notice a significant difference using those kessils? They're so small, I have a hard time believing they do anything worth while. But, I've never tried them or seen a grow using them, so I can't really judge.

I believe they are not great on their own, I have only tried 1 kessil on it's own once and the results were not impressive to say the least. Other factors might have played a role.

I believe the AF600s are absolutely powerful enough on their own and only use the Kessils to fill the gaps between the main units. Many times I have bleached my plants having the Kessil overlapping the AF600s. I am more careful with them now and I plan to use them only when the canopy gets very thick.

It seems like the Kessil's magenta spectrum is great to bring out beautiful shades of purple from your plants. I need to experiment more with them but right now I am only using one of the 2 and I would not recommend buying them for main lighting source unless you could afford their whole line of spectrum.

It's been over a year of trying various lights from various makers, the only light I feel 100% good to recommend is the AF600. There are many great lights that I have not tried, but I stopped looking around for better lights after growing with the AF600s.

Interesting. Do the footprints of your larger panels not overlap at all, even when hung as close together as in the first pic?

I can also upload the old journal for the DR.G. smoke report using my old username if you dont want to read what I have to say with my new costume :eyesmoke:

Seriously, I never liked my previous username, I used Endur0xX when I used to play shooters online, ... that was almost 15 years ago. Green Santa is a better fit and the best has yet to come.

Makes sense friend...........I'll get used to the name change:P........can't wait to see what you got going on, be safe and happy growing.

The footprints of the larger panels overlap together for sure! they are good for 4x4 coverage.

I can't find the picture (not on my laptop) but I had the 2 Dr.Grinspoons in the center of the room for the longest time and they were too tall, that is why I placed the Kessil where it's at and I know that it will not bleach my plants this way so I will probably keep it there for a while. I am looking forward to see if the plants right under the Kessil will turn purple again.

EDIT, the picture with all the lights in the first post was taken when the DR.G was in the center.

Thanks demonhaze, the spacebomb nugs were the bomb, some of the best buds I have ever smoked!! the smell was incredible too!! I am not very good at describing smell and taste but I would rate them both at 9/10. 9/10 for the potency as well.

Gotcha. I wonder if it's chlorophyll a that turns the plant purple, since it's the closest to that end of the spectrum?

GS is up in the canadias. That brisk cool arctic tundra weather might turn them a lil purple. Really cold air will turn any strain purple. Just playin though santa. Everything looks dank. Im a lil jealous.

Green Santa and the red eyed reindeer. With buds those frosty you should have put on the snowman costume. Endur0xX / Green Santa, whichever mask you're wearing I'm a fan. Happily subbed for a fresh chapter. It was getting hard to keep track of everything with the last one anyway. Good call. Good Luck homie.

I am not so sure about the Kessils and the purple anymore!

It simply happened that the first few times I had the kessil close to a plant it turned purple.

But the WW X Nuken was completely purple and grown strictly under the af600, and now that I am looking at the plants in room1, I dont see any purple whatsoever.

Everything right under the kessil got toasted and they are all struggling to finish. I have had the Kessil off for about 2 weeks now. I included a shot that you can see where the light was and the 3 plants in the 10 gallons container right under have lost their lush green colours very early on during flowering. However, the WW did very well and was getting a fair bit of residual light from the Kessil, I think I need to have it much farther.

The Crystal production is great and almost everything is about to come down. Everything is moving so fast and my clones are not nearly ready to go in ... sorry guys I won't be growing massive plants like I had planned.

Anyway, I have decided that after flowering the few plants in the veg cab that I will be going back to 12/12 FS. The crosses I have made seems to respond very well to this style of growing and I now know what to look for when buying seeds. I will spend the year playing with my seeds (and a few other packs that were given to me!) Next winter I will make new crosses carefully selecting my male.

It's early but I started a bunch of tomato plants (36!) I am becoming a real farmer! I want some massive tomato plants this summer. I built a bunch of raised beds in my yard and if I wasnt downtown, I wouldnt be filling them with tomato plants but it will be just as fun and rewarding!!

The fact that I can grow my weed indoor through the summer months with LEDs makes it easier not to grow outdoor I guess...

Happy Growing Everyone,

Crazy bleaching. I've seen it happen before, always because the light was too close. I hypothesize the higher frequency wavelengths coming out of the panel lyse the pigments in the parts of the plant that are too close to the light.
