Not Every plant wil grow as planned. Actually you will likely encounter many many problems. As i restart these gardens i have many many sickly small clones and mothers. Some are mite ridden but they have the Gene's i desire.

Lets take a look at the problem And the Cure on this plant.

This is a feminized PPP by nirvana. they have very little Vigor, and almost no Branching. I have flowered this strain once so its time to Correct these short Comings

PPP #1

Clone age 11 days. Media fox farms Ocean forest.

You can See these plants make one cola and its TINY

We have to get these plants making bigger better buds. you can see this plant has great denisity, EXCELENT resin production. so taking all these traits and fixing the vigor is imperative.

Lets try to make #1 a Real #1

Problem #1

Too Much Stem!
Heres what i will do.

100_2154.jpg

ok this rooted clone is in a quart pot. it will end up in a 3.5 gallon pot. i have extra deep pot to promote deep root penetration this also allows me to plant this girl below soil line.

So you see what we are in now.
100_2158.jpg

And our new pot

100_2160.jpg

Ok next step.. Plant it. but we want to see what we will end with.

So we add a few inches of dirt to the new pot.
100_2163.jpg

then we place our girl in for a test fit.
To me i want to go lower!

100_2162.jpg

So i dig out a little more dirt and replace it in the media.

and i can live with this!

Ok this pot now has the total depth of the 3.5 gallon pots. so when i transplant to the final pot It wont get any shorter. but it will add abot 3 inches of extra dirt around the outside.

Now placing this plant this far in the dirt could cause Stem rot. killing the entire plant. but i have found if i simply doctor the stem the roots will explode from the buried stem.

100_2167.jpg

so i left about 4 inches of stem underground. to help promote roots i will very very lightly scrape the stem. this helps to remove the outter skin and allows the root hormone to penetrate very quickly

100_2168.jpg

Here is how i gently scrape the stem
100_2170.jpg

hmmm. so you just plant it in deep dirt. you could also strip a little from the sides of the stem and coat it with rooting hormones before filling up with dirt. it should grow new roots all along the stem and thus give you a bigger root system and maybe a larger yeild.

oops, my bad. you weren't finished. i see we are of the same mind. continue on good sir...

So now i grab some clone gel and some old rockwool

100_2172.jpg

I Want to gently brush traces onto the stem where i was scraping the nodes.
100_2173.jpg

ok We are ready to fill the remaining amount of the pot.

BUT.... did you notice a slight nitro deficenty. i did so before i fill this pot up the remaining amount. i will add a little extra WORM CASTINGS 1.0.0 to the soil this will gently green this plant while it consumes the nutrients from the soil.

So here is the finished girl. We Need to let her recover for a couple days then we will start working on side branches WITHOUT topping

100_2181.jpg

Ok here is the ulgy duckling after 3 days. She has perked up a bit. but she needs some food very quickly. you can tell the roots are growing as the plants nitrogen levels are getting consumed very rapidly. there is not enough in the soil we will have to feed later today

100_2231.jpg

100_2232.jpg

you can see some node devolopment started however we need more energy first so no efforts to slow the top YET.

At this point i want to feed. in looking at the leaves i see a few white dots thats a mite!!!
100_2236.jpg

100_2235.jpg

no pesticide will be used so killing one now stops hundreds later. i will have predator mites in this garden so no spray on these.

lets use my fingers to squish this mite.

100_2237.jpg

i will water and update in a few days i plan on repotting it into its final 3.5 gallon pot in 7-10 days depending on how she recovers.

i need a clone so i might decide to top this one. i have anotherclone of ppp#1 but has the same problems as this one. i will try to get a picture of her too. se is much smaller

day 5 there is little vertice growth, however we can see the nodes are starting to perk up. I fed with a light nitro mix it has greened up slightly.
