Great outdoors, good hunting and fishing, really nice people if one doesn't bring up contradictions such as how they are devouring the very wilderness they brag about. You'll fit in better anywhere in Idaho than you do in Portland.

Idaho is a beautiful state and no matter their politics, there are a lot of beautiful people there too. I'm happy to live in Oregon, a beautiful state and a state that has policies more in line with my personal ideology but I also miss the people and the lands of Idaho. I'd be glad to live there again if I had to move.

The people I met in Idaho were beautiful people. We had plenty in common outside of politics so we simply didn't discuss politics. One of the things wrong in this country today is people like you who self-segregate from the wider world.

The people I've met who live in Idaho or recently did are a small dataset, but they did use the term. To be sure, they were referring to the political climate rather than the landscape.
