The Clear Amber Trichome

This is the goal for all my indicas, just wondering how much longer it's going to take for the resins to turn amber. They have been covering the buds and it's so hard to watch the THC degrade!

If the buds were at their frostiest beginning week 5 (after 4 weeks), how long will it take until the resins turn amber?

Of course it varies . . . maybe 3-5 more weeks, depending on strain, environment, etc.

What d'ya mean "watching the thc degrade"?
I believe any harmful thc degradation would occur after the entire plant is beyond amber, but could be mistaken.

I'm just starting Week 7 by the way. As I read, the thc production is no longer quite up to the rate of degradation from heat and light. The only thing that makes me feel better is the plant is in the sun 5 hours a day, so it gets a lot of UVB. As I understand, UVB aids in the production of resin as a defense.

I did an extended darkness 24/0 and then 15/9 for a few days to shorten the growth cycle of the flowering stage, so now my harvest time is up in the air. I thought resins would be amber by now so I became curious:

maybe it has more to do with the age of the plant (in terms of flowering weeks) than the length of time the trichomes have developed?

No, not really . . . that'd be when it would be usable, but not necessarily amber ripe.
Ripening continues after harvest, which is why curing and storage are important.
