I know it's late but, we just had our last freeze here. Plus I found this perfect bird nest to grow in.
I've been tending some bagbeans for two weeks in a Perlite, Vermiculite, and EWC mix. I've selected one to go to the site tomorrow. It's got the third leaf set just popping out.
Location: On a ridge past a river bottom in a forest. Latitude ~29°
Medium: I've buried and camouflaged a 5 gallon bucket with 3 parts Compost*, 1 part Vermiculite, 1 part Perlite, and 1 part EWC.
Watering: I only have a half gallon container with which to water inexplicably so, I'll make daily trips. Some Compost Teas will be made. Probably Nettle.
Bugs/Critters: Mulch top lightly coated in Diatimacious Earth and pissing EVERYWHERE around it.
* The compost is composed of Donkey/Goat/Sheep muck (manure matted in hay), Chicken/Duck muck, tons of vegetables and cracked eggs from the farm and, composted food. It's fast cook (150 + degrees) and this stuff is dirty diamonds.
Wish a rookie luck.
