...is a museum in downtown LA. Free, and open to the public. Decided to take my mom there for her 66th birthday today, and I had never been there. Let's just say I was pleasantly surprised by some of the collections. Very cool stuff. Enjoy!

I was particularly taken by this artist Takashi Murakami... especially this one huge piece that covers two walls.

I dunno if you've heard of Jean-Michel Basquiat. I know they made a movie about him titled his last name... interesting to see some of his scribbles in person.

] Jeff Koons anyone? I'm sure a lot of y'all have seen his work. He also did the metallic tulip balloons in the first post. Here's a couple others...The balloon doggy is HUGE! Like 8 feet tall... and I LOVE the bunny...Love love love!!!

The Michael jackson with bubbles piece doesn't fit with the balloon animals, but it's still a Koons...

There's were a couple HUGE pieces by this artist from Ghana...he made them out of aluminum garbage and wires the pieces together with copper wire. Super cool.

This was part of the Murakami giant piece...but for some reason my mom really got a kick outta this weird little kitty-lizard...lol

I almost forgot this statue, the guy makes life size body molds out of people in his Brooklyn neighborhood...including the clothes they wear and down to facial expressions
