i understand to each is their own but i would like to hear/try some ways of germination posted on this site. i currently have 20 seed waiting to sprout.

Seeds placed in a wet paper towel on a tea saucer or small plate...then covered with a cereal bowl and then placed on top of a cable box or computer monitor. Keep um warm, dark and wet and you should have "poppage" in 24 hours :hump:

Seeds will grow into papertowel if you're not careful. Could damage taproot.
I prefer a shot glass filled with water, pop seeds in glass (they should float on top of water). Cover with a kitchen towel, and pop in a cupboard for 24hrs.
Seeds should sink to bottom of glass if they're viable. (may have to stir the seeds in case of air bubbles).
Remove and plant.
I usually see the seed cracked, and root starting in the bottom of glass before planting.
Peace

Alwyas found Putting them in a shot glass of water and putting them in my airing cupboard works well, normally an inch of root within the first 2 days

I germinated my first batch using the paper towel method. While it worked fine, it's a bit delicate handling the sprouts for planting. At the suggestion of Mandala (seed breeder), my second batch were germinated in soil. 100% germination in 3 days and no sprout handling issues. I'll be using soil for all seed germination in the future.

as of 25 hours ago i started the germination process and still 3 of the 10 seeds are still floating on the top of the shot glass. does that mean they are not going to sprout?
