That Old School Pine

-Where / When i grew up here in the Midwest ( 90s-2000s ) this was the standard bud availability

-Regs 45$-50$ an ounce 10$ an eighth
(Stems seeds ect. looked like it was picked never trimmed and just pressed into a brick in Mexico)

-Was never trimmed, always poorly dried / cure
-Smoke a whole joint and you might get a head ache

-Mids 55$-110$ an ounce, 20$ an eighth
(Much fewer sticks and seeds properly / locally grown but nothing special in the genetics department )

-Dried and trimmed properly but never very frosty
-Only need half a joint to achieve the above mentioned head ache

-BC Bud 175$-250$ an ounce, 35$-45$ an eighth depending on if Chronic was around
(Canadian grown / made up of almost entirely red hairs with no unique smell or flavor but generally no seeds )

-Looked pretty seemed to be 70% hairs
-Buzz was noticeable but never very strong

And

-Chronic 200$-400$ an ounce, 50$ an eighth 55-60 if they smelled desperation
(Generally no seeds but i would have loved to find one, always light green and covered in trichs and smelled / tasted like a God damn Pine forest)

-Looked right, Smelled right, tasted right
-Buzz knocked me on my ass ( not sure if it was as good as i remember it because there really was no competition but i do remember it very fondly)

-I miss that unique piney flavor from my childhood

-The only bud i have a fonder memory of from that time was some Durban poison that made its way up and stuck around for a few years, since then i have been able to find Durban with relative ease.

-Now with the medical industry and access to other professional growers my tastes have shifted more to the clone only strains from Ohio Lemon G / Woody Haze ect. I currently don't have the direct access I would like to those genetics but I am close enough to at least acquire the real deal flowers so it works.

-To date I have not been able to locate anything even close to that delicious Pine tree flavor, where Citrus / Fruit / Fuel / and skunk are much more prominent now and I wondered if that flavor had just been bred out over the years or did my taste buds change and the issue lies with me.

-With all that in mind this post is about locating / acquiring "The Chronic" or a suitable strain similar to it

-I was wondering if anyone on here has similar stories and experiences / would have any recommendations on strains or ideally have genetics preserved from the early 90s/2000s of that delicious piney smell and taste and also have a medical card here in Michigan.
