I really want to pick up TGA and there are so many strains I want to grow but I can't buy a bunch of full packs becasue of cost.

What are people experiencing with germination rates and female/to male

I was gonna pick and mix through attitude but I was thinking if I only get 3/4 of each that I might not have a good plant if a few don't germ or the ones that do might be male.

Do you think I could be ok with 3 seeds of 4 strains hoping for one female.

Or should I just get fewer strains and get 5 or 10 seeds. I'm just on a budget and If I could get more strains and just get one good female that all I would want.

it would just be sad to get nothing froma certain strain because of random luck germ, male/female
 
yes you will still get good genetics even if you get 3-4 beans. in my experience i got 10 jilly bean, 5 querkle, 6 3d all pheno was great. have heard a lot of people getting more female ratio than male
 
germed 3 JTR and 3 Jilly Bean...one Jilly Bean male.

Put it this way, I have never flowered a TGA strain in my limited grow expereince that wasn't dank. I've had probly 1/8 of my seeds turn male, but I dont think thats controllable, as in nature should be 50/50 with at tilt to female for survival reasons. This last grow I did 2 Querkles, 1 was male, the other I chopped the other day and I couldn't get over how amazing it looked with its purple polkadots and goey long hanging trichomes, it was so beautiful and I prepared my next grow. I am now doing 4 seeds, 1 Jilly Bean, 1 Cheesequake, 1 Chernobyl, 1 Qleaner. Now i'm sure i'll get probly 1 - 2 males, but even so knowing i've never grown any of thse 4 strains before, i Know i'll get something dank and amazing. :) The odds with Subcools gear are just good. My vortex, JTR, and Flav were simply just superior looking, smelling, and smoking than the other stuff I grew.
 
Out of two jillbean poped I got two females (from a 10 pack)
Out of two pandoars box poped got two females (from a 10 pack)
Out of ten honeymoon mix poped got 4 females and 4 males (2 died) and were some of the best looking males I have ever seen (looked like female plants)
Out of four voids poped got 1 female (three other seeds didnt survive)

Cannot complain from my end...all females have been/will be run more than once. I must admit though so far jillybean is my least favorite of everything ran (in plant structure,smell,high) - nice plants just not my cup of tea

Its all about the males. I feel weird saying this, but if you find a sexy male keep that sucker and have him sex up some of your finest sexiest ladies! you wont be disappointed for a number of reasons. Mainly you can keep the strains going that you want and nothing grows better than a F1 hybrid seed.
 
since the thread seems to have drifted off into how many females you'll get I thought I'd share.
In my https://www.rollitup.org/smoke-reports/227741-jilly-bean.html grow I germed a 5 pack, I dropped one seed and never found it, so with four seeds left I got 4 females technically 100 % female I guess. Of all my grows that's the one I would have wanted a male or two.
I crossed them with Reeferman's Mazar I Shariff & Willie Nelson that I had males of.
Have yet to grow out those crosses.

This year new grower, grew 3 flavs (2 females), 2 vortex (2 females), 1 Jack the Ripper (1 female), 2 Querkles (1 female), 1 3rd Dimension (1 male).

Every female I got was fantastic and a personal favorite. among 2 females 1 was always superior, but both have always been fantastic. I have yet to have shitty smoke from my subcool seeds.
 
I just placed and order last night for 5x jilly bean and 5x Pandoras Box....if your asking advice on what to buy I would go with less strains and buy one or two more seeds of each...but I like to play it safe usually.
I cant wait till I get to see what I can do with the beans I got.

a safe place to grow again. I had to move since then and my new place is unsafe.
Qualified test growers welcome.
my definition of qualified: preferrably in Canada (cheaper postage and less likely to have seeds seized)
Priority to someone who will do a grow journal.
