TGA Crosses

I have some Plush berry, Querkle, and Qleaner arriving soon and am planing on growing out and pollinating several selected males. After I collect some pollen I want to seed a few branches of my girls and get a batch of my own hybrid seeds. I am relatively new to breading. Other than one accidental cross and a lot of reading on the subject Im not entirely sure how to map out my plan off attack.. I have a room to pollinate males in and I am interested in a technique where I can pollinate a branch on my female but not the entire plant and reintroduce it back into the main flower room with out any accidental pollination of other plants in the garden.

Any one have any words of wisdom, or caution? I am concerned that I may accidentily pollinate other plants in my flower room unintentionally that may reduce my crop yields or create unwanted seeds, but what else should I be careful of? Is this as hard and labor intensive as I think its going to be at first? Im sure once I get the process down it will be quite easy, but I think the first few times at this must be challenging. I email Subcool about my idea to experiment with some of his genetics, if he has the time to write me back, ill post it on here. Thanks!

You might not even need male pollen with the TGA gear as most of it sensitive and prone to selfing . It can be rewarding too as I have seen some killer hybrids born from selfing TGA's collection but be forewarned as these hybrids can self easily even when selectively pollinated as mentioned , and then the crosses get even more messy sad to say when trying to select for traits and stability .

Do the male/males in a separate room and let the pollen fall on glass (or something clean an easy to scrape.) Collect it the pollen and put it in the fridge, or if the females are ready within a week then just keep pollen cool and dark. Kill males and clean the whole breeding room with 10% alcohol and water spray. Select females at about 25 days. It takes about 35+ days to get mature beans. Bring females in to the breeding room one at a time. Use a small paint brush to dust your branch carefully...pick a branch that is lower and away from other growth to limit accidents. Some put a paper bag over the branch once they dust it and leave it on there for 3 days. After the 3 days, a quick water spray and back into the normal flower room. You can harvest the rest of the plant and let the one seeded branch go for an extra week to make sure they are developed.

I've done this "collect then dust" method outdoors and couldn't move the females and still had no extra/unwanted beans.

EDIT: just watched RD scotts video...perfect video.

Thanks for the warning that is good information to have. I would like to stay as far away from any self pollination as possible as these are not seed I would replant and would simply get in the way of my flower production. I guess I will have to keep an eye out for male pistals showing up on my girls. thanks

really great advice, nice break down of the method I am going to be using. I already have my male room set up and ready to go. Haven't watched the vids yet, but going to get to it in a few hours.

I crossed a Qleaner male with OG Kush. The seeds will be ready in about 2 or 3 more weeks

I watch for a pollen sack to open, then use something like a bottle cap under it and then with a q-tip I tap the pollen sack and poof a bust of dust will come out. Then I use the q-tip to lightly wipe the pistils on the bud or buds I want to seed. Works pretty well without much over dusting.

good advice, thanks for the post :)

I did it with SFV OG and Jillybean(male).

And to just about everything I had...GSC, Chem99, SK1, TGA Kaboom, kandy kush, super sour OG, huckleberry...all hit with pollen from my jillybean male.

You purposefully crossed them all or was there an accident in the flower room?

The qleaner male was very bushy and stinky like lemons. The OG cut is a 3 leaf og kush clone I brought back from LA about 4 or 5 years ago.

I did it in my outdoor garden to one branch on each plant without pollenating the rest of the plant or garden. I did them all on purpose. My plants were 2+lb and had no unwanted seeds other than the one branch on each that I dusted with the paint brush on purpose.
Now I have a stockpile of Jillybean crosses for when ever I need/want beans. I get hundreds of beans off just one good branch outdoors.

was the jillybean traits more dominate in the new seeds you made or are the females traits more dominate?

I pollinated my keeper Querkle Pheno last year & I'm growing them out right now. The male I used was Purple Empress x Goo Thunder. He was selected for his color & vigor. What's really nice is I've got two different phenos right now. One is a dead ringer of the Querkle mom I used & the other one is a bigger better version of mom with more Sativa in her blood & way more crystal the the original mom on both my phenos. Very happy with this cross!
The terps are very similar to Querkle mom but with some pineapple mixed in with one of them, and some hashy undertones with some fruity musk.
