Temps

I'm curious about hot summer temps and their effect on outdoor grows. You constantly hear to not let indoor temps get over 85 etc. but mid-summer in the South, Mid-West, West, and Mexico routinely hit temps near or above 100. Is this harmful to the plant? How can a plant survive these temps in one environment when it is "deadly" in another?

In an indoor environment you are trying to optimise conditions. Hot temperatures are not Deadly to MJ plants indoors, it just doesn't create the optimal environment. A plant outdoor experiencing temps like that will not have these temps for the whole day, most likely mid day and then getting cooler for example. With an indoor environment if there is an error in that environment and for example your extractor does not extract, then your plant could be facing 12 hours of the same, constant heat. Which would be more damaging. Outdoor you have clouds, wind factor, positioning of the plant, etc. I am not saying that extreme temps do not ruin crops, of course they do. Look at how places like Africa are effected, or farmers yields are effected if they have droughts, or floods, or extreme temps.

Hope that goes someway to answering your question.

Peace, DST
