can some one tell me what the temprature should be when lights are on and when lights are off and does making sure the temprature is right really matter thanks
you dont ever really want temps to exceed 86f unless youre running co2 as the higher temps will slow down growth but Co2 raises the plants metabolism allowing them to still grow fast with higher temps
with that being said I try to keep my lights on temp as close to 79f as possible during lights on, and no less than 76 during lights off large drops in temp between lights on and lights off can cause stretch
that being said the opposite holds true, if you can make your lights off temp the same or higher than your lights on temp you can stop stretching ( I have not been able to do this so I cant confirm that for sure) but I trust the source I got it from
My lights on temp is 80f max and my lights off temp is 76.4 I think that is the sweet spot as the diffrence in temp between lights on and lights off is not drastic and will keep my girls from stretching and cause tight internodal growth.
However... what is MORE important that just maintaining a max or low temp is the relation between the two.
So lets say the coolest you can get with lights on is 84 degrees, then you want your lights off temp to be around 82-83f see what Im saying ? I confuse myself when I type so Ill recap. Keep the lights on temp and lights off temp as close as you can, if you can keep max temps 79-80 ish lights on and 76-77ish light off, but if that is not possible just keep them close together to keep the internodes from stretching, and I would NOT allow my temps to exceed 86f EVER. even if that meant upgrading my ventallation.
Res temps should be no less than 62f, no more than 75 but Id keep them around 68 as thats the sweet spot, reason being is its the sweet spot in which everything good you want to happen in your res happens, while minimizing anything bad that can happen. root rot is a bi*ch in DWC
