Temperature control - pc growcase

Hi there,

I'm trying to get my first growing project off the ground this year in a pc growcase, but I'm having some problems keeping the temps down. I have 4 CFL's in there running at 23W, 1 big exhaust fan and 1 smaller intake fan. The temperature I'm reading inside the case after 4,5hours of nonstop lighting is 30-34C°.

Do you have any advice for me to get that down? What temp should I really be aiming for (somewhere around 27C°?) Just pop in some more fans maybe?

Thanks!

I would try to get those temps down to 23C to 25C. You have several options:

1) Improve your existing cooling.
2) Add fans to improve cooling.
3) Reduce the number of lights you have.
4) Add simple cooling like frozen water bottles.
5) Change your lighting to LEDs or something.

Good luck.

I am currently running a testrig with only 2 CFL's at 23W. I'm a little worried that it's not going to be enough light though... The groundsurface of the box is about 2sq feet, and the plan is to grow one easyryder and one WW in there.

I'm not a CFL grower so I'm not sure. It would be enough light to grow something, how much of that is the question. I really think an LED array is the way to go if you have the money but need stealth. They are expensive but perfect for an application like this. I have 2 50w DIY arrays and they work great.
